I think the graphene testnet servers aren't up any more, you have to use the new bitshares-2 version. That's in a different PPA
Code: [Select]
apt-add-repository ppa:showard314/bitshares
apt-get install bitshares2
bitshares2

Thanks, but I can upgrade to 15.10 now, that will probably have 1.57.

Bleeding edge as usual.

i build boost in:
https://launchpad.net/~showard314/+archive/ubuntu/bitshares

feel free to use that package for boost

General Discussion / Re: BitShares 2 Release Coordination Thread
« on: October 13, 2015, 06:57:27 pm »
The normal PPA is updated:

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:showard314/bitshares
sudo apt-get update

the new package name is bitshares2-cli and will install cli_wallet and witness node. People can have both bitshares-cli and bitshares2-cli installed at the same time (for wallet transferring)

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install bitshares2-cli

It is only for vivid and wily, if your vps is trusty will will have to upgrade (too many dependencies for me to backport)

electron light client will be coming later today ("bitshares2")

How much did that cost to publish? Was it a serial?

don't think it was native content. typically the contributors get paid per view/click per month, so they are looking for "juicy stories." They want to build up an audience so they try to stick to single communities and topics.

do you know, whether deb package will be prepared for ubuntu and debian?

Yes, if the worker is approved (debian and ubuntu)
For now you can get a pre-release version by:

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:showard314/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install graphene-ui
graphene

the cli_wallet and witness_node binaries are in the graphene package

General Discussion / Re: Graphene daily PPA
« on: October 12, 2015, 09:13:25 pm »
Light wallet is available on vivid! No need to run a full node, do all the processing on your computer and just send transactions to the network.

Same ppa:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:showard314/ppa

New package:
sudo apt-get install graphene-ui

to run:
type "graphene" in to your terminal, or look for the new "Graphene" link in your program launcher (no icon yet).

This is not built daily yet, but please test to make sure it's production ready.

EDIT: daily builds are now enabled

figured it out:
first in web/, build the app with "npm run-script build"
then copy everything from web/dist to electron/build
then you can go to electron/ and do "npm start"

From:
https://github.com/cryptonomex/graphene-ui

I'm trying out the electron build on linux (ubuntu 14.10). How is cryptonomex generating the windows and mac builds?

When using the start script, an an empty electron window pops up and does nothing (just white on the inside frame, no web page loaded).

When I used the release script (release_linux.js), a .deb is created. When installed, it behaves the same way.
I don't want to take away from development, but if I could get a hint as to how it is supposed to be built I can look at getting out linux binaries.

The web wallet works fine, looks great. I don't see much of a benefit to a web gui package as it's just as easy for someone to "git clone" "npm install" and "npm start," but the light client would have a wider use-case interesting.

Hint is here:

-DBUILD_WEB_NODE=ON

I haven't tried it yet though

graphene-gui will be on hold for a little bit:
https://github.com/cryptonomex/graphene/issues/363
https://github.com/cryptonomex/graphene/issues/361

I'm re-enabling building of the CLI packages only so at least they will be kept up to date.

Hello all,
1) graphene-gui (i.e., "light_client") is coming! "apt-get install graphene-gui" will bring in the qt5.5 light_client. Should be available in an hour or two. This will be built daily like the "graphene" package, which just has the CLI.

2) Some maintenance going on at the graphene daily PPA at the moment, graphene packages might not be available for an hour or two, just FYI

with the run up of price, we ran out of forced margin calls at feed+10%.

Technical Support / Re: Importing Keys into Graphene
« on: October 03, 2015, 05:58:15 pm »
I've exported keys, but when I try to import it says the wallet has the wrong chain id. The info command shows the correct chain, and i started the cli_wallet with the correct chain id. Is there something else I should be doing?
