Trying to set up in Digital Ocean but it is asking for a hostname - do I have to register a domain name etc etc before I can use this or am I missing something;
Following instructions from bitcointalk, as detailed below;
"Next click on create a new droplet. Pick Debian 7.0 x64 and then choose a droplet. I personally recommend starting with 5x the $20/month options and then move up if you find them to be profitable. Once you create your droplet (fill in all other relevant information like the droplet name - which doesn't matter), hit create droplet. You'll get an email with your username and password. Go back to your droplet and click console access. You'll see a black terminal window appear. Type in your username (always root) and then your password (from the email) - note your password won't appear as you type it just type the whole thing as click enter.
Next, type in the following code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install yasm -y git make g++ build-essential libminiupnpc-dev
sudo apt-get install -y libboost-all-dev libdb++-dev libgmp-dev libssl-dev dos2unix
git clone https://github.com/thbaumbach/ptsminer
cd ~/ptsminer/src
make -f makefile.unix
./ptsminer <your PTS address> <number of threads>
Go to http://ptsweb.beeeeer.org/user/<your PTS address> to see how many coins your getting!

I had a problem with this tutorial. You need to set some data in the command line like the quantity of RAM and stuff.
I did this command :
./ptsminer Ppfk7DMY7wCpFfLUnSVijGwruPq3Y3WJF9 1 26 sse4
1 is 1 CPU
26 is 512 RAM
sse4 is intel

Are you using Putty to connect ?

I use this one :
http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty-0.63-installer.exe
From putty you can define your host name = ip address of the digital droplet
and connect.
once you are connected, you can paste the password using a right click
notice that the password or anything you type won't show
press enter to confirm the password and connect.

It mean that the pool is sending you correctly the work to do.
In some case, when you leave Putty (or equivalent), it stop the active session. To solve this you can use tmux like this :
sudo apt-get install tmux
tmux
cd ~/ptsminer/src
./ptsminer Ppfk7DMY7wCpFfLUnSVijGwruPq3Y3WJF9 1 26 sse4
(replace with your settings)
press Ctrl-b then d to close session
tmux attach -t 0 to resume session (0 is the number)

Well everything was going smoothly until late last night.
I finished working and just decided to check my computer when the console black screen froze.
Then I get;
"Failed to establish a connection to the console. Please reload."
several times - tried everything in my very small, tech repertoire so in the end I destroyed the droplet and decided to start again.
Created new droplet, which I pointed to their new AMS server host, and then got the same message -
"Failed to establish a connection to the console. Please reload."
My computer has not yet been chucked out of the window so I have raised a support ticket...
Beginning to wish I had stuck to solo mining & cx
