General Discussion / Re: what`s Compumatrix/COMPUCEEDS?
« on: April 09, 2016, 04:53:55 pm »
@tbone, thanks. up until now I really have experienced nothing but helpful and friendly people on this forum and am still enjoying this forum with it's openness, as well as OpenLedger as such, even though I still struggle to find my way on the trading side. I know I can ask any question here and get answers almost immediately.

Well, well, well, what a very interesting read for new OL users coming from Compumatrix.
Be advised that this will be read by many Compumatrix members, having received the link to this thread  on one of their sites.
It definitely does not serve as an encouragement to actively engage on OL, but rather as a deterrent.

Having been introduced to OL via Compumatrix, I feel like having received a slap in the face with this discussion.
At least I now  know whom not to vote for.
Thank you.
PS. if this offends you, let it be known that I'm one of the black sheep in Compumatrix for calling a spade a spade.

General Discussion / Re: Looking for Deposit Tutorial for OPEN.BTC
« on: April 06, 2016, 02:20:30 pm »
Thank you so much for these tutorial vids Chris! I've shared all of them in my group of newbies to OL.
Now we're just waiting for one on how to interpret the trading screen, since that really seems to be a big problem for newbies.
We tend to make awful mistakes in our ignorance.

Thanks, for answering, Xeroc, but for a newbie to trading currencies that screen looks like Chinese, scary.

Can any body here please advise me if I did this correctly:
I looked for the price on http://cryptofresh.com/a/QBITS_BTS and found 0.354 as last price. Then I put up 100 Qbits to get 35,4 bitshares. and placed the order.
Was that correct or should I look somewhere else to see the price?

Ccedk,
Wow thank you very much for that. That was a surprise.

What's equally brilliant is you have given me guidance on what other videos to create.

I managed to move my funds over from BitShares 1 to open ledger so I can make that video for sure.

Now I have confidence that these videos will be used I will create a better structure so people can start at the very beginning "how do I setup my open ledger account?" And then "how do I buy some BitShares?" And then gradually increase to more and more advanced topics.

I do enjoy making these videos too so thank you for your support :)

Hi Chris, I've now waatched all vids on OL I could find on youtube. You were to re-do the account section overview, but I cannot find that. Did you do it? Would appreciate it if you could tell me where to find more.
There are a lot of newbies coming from Compumatrix to Openledger now and any tutorial will be highly appreciated. PLEASE keep on producing the vids!

Thank you @cube. It is refreshing to be in a Forum where any question is allowed.

Now HOW on earth must a newbie like me know that or do that if the account does not open in the first place because of the init.error?
Most newbies are afraid to push buttons for fear of messing up, as well as  afraid .to ask questions for fear of appearing stupid
As a group leader, however,  I have to ask these stupid questions in order to be able to help my group.

Hi, I keep getting this screen lately when I want to log into my OL account and no matter how many times I retry, https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/ gives me an init error. How can that be avoided?

@Xeldal  Please bear with my blondness, but I don't know how to look for liquidity in those markets.
Then I also need to know if there is a minimum amount of BTC/Satoshi that one has to send or not.

Even though I had created an account about a week ago, when I checked through accounts today, my account name wasn't there. So I created the same account again today using Firefox, no problem and now I can see the overview page, which I was looking for for quite some time. So it seems the problem has been sorted out.

@Xeldal Thanks so much for that explanation! It does make it clear for me. An explainer video would of course make this easier for many more people, who learn by seeing things done.
@abit Thank you too for answering. I did find that and changed the faucet link .

Hi Shentist,  thanks for the answer, most of which I don't understand at all. What is a UIA? Haven't explored the wallet yet as i had an immense struggle creating the wallet in the first place and that got me into looking for answers all over the net first.
In the youtube video "Smart Trading Decentralised" CCEDK wrote in a comment "'You can easily shift bitcoin into your bitshares wallet and back out...." but he hasn't yet explained how to do that. '

Hi, I'm a total noob to all this and thus have stupid questions. Can I transfer bitcoins/Satoshi from an outside wallet to my registered OL wallet name like this, noisy?
