Technical Support / Re: BitShares 2.0, Graphene & Cryptonomex
« on: June 16, 2015, 02:58:41 am »
<taking off cloak of composure>

Can everyone just shut the hell up and let them get 2.0 into dev?!

They just GAVE AWAY nearly half a year of work after all the FUD about IP and claims of greed and some people are taking that as an invitation to ask for more?!

[ ... ]

+5% to the team of Cryptonomex for the sacrifice you were willing to make for BitShares today. I only pray now that the community remembers this at least for the next few months until we have 2.0.

Thanks, you expressed perfectly what my poor english couldn't do !  +5% +5% +5%

Technical Support / Re: "High" Transaction Fees
« on: June 11, 2015, 01:39:36 pm »
Micro transactions seem to be the only market BitShares 2.0 can't absorb.

As I see it, it gonna be a big market in the future with advertising, online game, tips,  online shops selling images or data contents, ...

It's also easier to get a new BitShares users via a gaming plateform or any micro paiments system (because it's fun) that find a person looking for an alternative to his traditional banking system.

If we can deal with 180 000 TPS right now and 1M if needed in the future. Is that impossible to charge 0.01$ for any purchase inferior to 1$? Splitting it between the referrer and the reserve fund or if it's more economical for the system the whole 0.01 to the reserve fund.

If it absorb half of the TPS we can process it would represent about 900$/day. Is it less than theses transactions would cost to the system ?

Maybe using the infographic as a base for a powerpoint. It sounds like perfect for a 15 min presentation.

We are producing tutorials with my team right now and we already have something decent for the "installing the client and registering an account"
It's in french but we can make you an english one quickly and upload it so you can use it after or during your presentation if you need it.

This is our old version : https://youtu.be/danAspTkv8U

It would be something like it (better), with english subtitles and without the first part on our web site.

Technical Support / Re: "High" Transaction Fees

I didn't understand first and I beleived that a newcomer with a free account should have to pay 0.20$ on transactions. This would have discourage a lot of users used to small crypto payments with low fees and slow down mass adoption. Although I'm not 100% sure of it, I think I was mistaken.

It seems that is the receiver of the money (the marchant) who is going to pay the fees. If I don't get it wrong, if he have a life account, he will be paying 0.04$ on every transaction which seems reasonable.

Someone could confirm I understood it well ?

For any kind of purchase superior to 0.50$, these fees are acceptable.

I think that the referral program is very well thought. It seems perfect to get BitShares viral quickly and efficiently.

But what is it going to happenned with UIA using for tipping or very small purchase (>0.15$) ?

I'm just giving mi opinion to help the community to have more food for thought.

I think maybe , the ref. prog. lacks of one more kind of account.

Is it impossible to have a special kind of account exclusively for micro paiment ? (I'm not giving a solution, just ideas)
Maybe an account for mechant who are dealing with a lot of micro paiments or tips.
It would help us to bring this part of the market in BitShares and not having some useless Altcoin with insanely high quantity of coin having this role.

It seem that I'm not the only one worried about loosing the hability to realise micro paiments with reasonable fees.

If I understand well, the receiver of the funds will be charged.
What happen if the sender have a free account (0.20$ fee) and the receiver have a life account (O.O4$) ? Who will be paying the fee and which amount.

My concern is that high fees paied by the owner of a  free account might seem unappealing for someone who principally use crypto currency for small purchases online (less than 1$).

697
I'm worried the high fees for free account may slow mass adoption.

One of the great hings that bring crypto currency is the ability to make fast and almost free small transactions.

How someone could even consider pay 0,20$ fee when bying his coffee or a small subscription on the web ?

On the other side, I support 100% the referral concept.

General Discussion / Re: Who sent me the 999.0 "ROSE" bitassets?

We also revieved some ROSE at BitShares French ConneXion   ;)

My interest is not in investment of notes or picking which artists are going to be most popular. My primary interest is in an efficient, equitable and economically viable music distribution and commerce system.
All I care about is that blockchain tech succeeds somewhere and that the psychopaths are marginalised so humanity can become civilized with 'an efficient, equitable and economically viable' planet.

Great perspective !

could you like stop advertising your delegates in every single post you make?

It's the most promising project we have to bring a LOT of new users in BitShares. In addition, these targeted newcomers are tech savy, crypto aware, have funds in volatile crypto and probably have a lot of friens in the crypto a sphere. What more do we want ?

For me, you could advertise yourself twice in every single post you make, it's still wouldn't be enough !

Hey Estefan!

Here's an info-graphic recently released by www.backgroundstories.com:

All About BitShares v0.9 Infographic

If you have anyone on your team that would like to translate it into French to help your site then cool.  8)

We've translated it. We had to re-create the whole document because french sentenses were longer than english ones and it messed everything up.

Anyway, it's done (almost) and it will be available soon on our web site.

We'll do an anoucement here when we'll have it ready for the public :  https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16441.0.html

General Discussion / BitShares French ConneXion : Updates
« on: May 20, 2015, 05:31:08 pm »

Hello BitShares community!

We'll post here updates and news about our web site. If you don't know who we are, just take a look at our original thread.

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16168.0.html

Lately we discovered that many “BitShares” was written without the capital S in our “BitShares 101” translation. During our review we managed to found a few mistake here and there. We gathered our courage and did a last reading of all the book to correct them and we think that we have now a result that reflects our professionalism.

The “101 BitShares” book (last edit 05/13/2015) is again available for free on our website.

http://www.bitsharesfcx.com/

We are glad to anounce that we already distributed a dozen of our translation to people interested. They are soon to become, like us, the next big fans of BitShares!

In order to help people visiting us to understand the difference between BitShares and the other crypto currencies available out there, we did a little comparative table.

This table is available here : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15RMgMmdPG8rAU_hHujGLwH90Mi2PKjYnvJika8UYX8I/edit?usp=sharing

If you can spot any mistake on this table we would apreciate if you can tell us so we can modify it right away.

We are proud to announce you that we already have dozens of people on our forum… Well actually one dozen… And we sure hope our server will hold on tight… ;D

We also have the great pleasure to anounce you that one of our members already bought his first quarter of BTC in BTS. There are no doubts that because of him, the price went up:

... lol

But let’s stop laughing for a while and we can tell you that we are currently on the final edit on our tutorial videos on how to install the client, and how to registrate on the blockchain via the faucet.

Don’t forget that we are all ears about what you have to say to us, and any comment, remark, help are welcome!!!

Français (French) / BitShares French ConneXion : Actualité
« on: May 20, 2015, 05:30:49 pm »

Bonjour la communauté

Nous posterons ici l'actualité de notre site web. Si vous ne nous connaissez pas, vous trouverez ici notre premier post.

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16167.0.html

http://www.bitsharesfcx.com/

It's a small detail but it may hurt our professional image ;

At the very beginning of the video, the subtitle say "... le monde des affaire". It's "... le monde des affaires" with an "s" at "affaire".
