The french community has very few information available about BitShares !!!
A lot of french speaking persons do not speak english or don’t have a significant level of english to understand exactly what BitShares is and what BitShares can do.
Let’s keep in mind that Bitshares is a very technical and financial opportunity. That’s why it is very difficult to understand its meaning if material you read is not in your mother tongue.
On this map you can see the french community:
Yeah, a lot of people speaks french outside of France! Many more places!!!
The french community is not yet alive on BitShares topics and we think that it is due to a lack of understanding.
That is why BitShares French ConneXion will try its best to make the french community enter the blockchain 2.0 world via BitShares.
But who are we and what have we done so far?
Our team is composed of four members who have grown a passion for cryptocurrencies. We are coming from different professional horizons such as business, engineering, psychology, agriculture or computer science. Geographically speaking, we are living in Belgium, France and Spain, we then understand and speak english, spanish, catalan, german and french.
As far as our curiosity pushed us, we overlooked the World Wide Web in the search of news and information about BitShares. We soon realized that in most of the article we read, we could find this information in any language except french.
That is the reason why we came up with the idea of creating a french website dedicated to BitShares and its explanation. The spread of information about a product like BitShares is one of the vital aspects for its growth. And we are going to try our best to make it available to the french community.
They will be able to follow in real time the evolution of BitShares if they are beginner in crypto currencies. But we will also be there for them if, like us, they grew a passion in crypto currencies, if they want to invest in BitShares or if they already did.
Our team is at their disposal for their first steps in this world and we will be there to lead them along this fantastic adventure.
Content of our website:
A « news » section where we will translate the most recent and interesting articles we found on the world wide web.
A novice section where people will be able to find information about BitShares (even Bitcoin) if the crypto currencies world is an unknown world to them
A news section in english for the persons among us that already have strong english skills. They will find here the latest articles about the subject.
A video section that contains Max Wright videos with french subtitles (work in progress), but also a video section of our own where we will produce videos about BitShares. We are going to start this section with tutorials videos.
A forum in which the french community will be able to talk about their ideas, ask questions and communicate with us. We also have an international section on this forum in case you don’t speak french but still want to communicate with us and share your ideas and views about BitShares or our project.
And last but not least, we offer the community free of any charges, our translation in french of « 101 BitShares », a book by Max Wright.
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join and support the french community and make of this place, with our help, a crossing of information about BitShares.
This is just the 1.0 version of our project. We have many many great features to come, new sections, videos, articles and much more. This is what we have been able to do with our own funds and free time during this last 2 months.

Beaucoup de francophones ne parlent pas anglais ou n’ont simplement pas un niveau d’anglais suffisamment élevé pour comprendre exactement ce qu’est BitShares et ce qu’il propose. Gardons à l’esprit que le monde de BitShares traite de sujets relativement techniques et financiers. Il est donc plus difficile d’en comprendre le sens quand cela n’est pas écrit dans notre langue maternelle.
Ci dessous notre public cible :
Le forum français n’est absolument pas vivant et nous pensons qu’une des principales raisons est due à la barrière linguistique.
C’est pour cela que notre équipe “BitShares French ConneXion” à décidé de changer la donne et faire entrer la communauté francophone dans l’air de la Blockchain 2.0 via BitShares.
Qui sommes nous et qu’avons nous déjà réalisé jusqu’ici ?
Passionnés de crypto-monnaies et de nouvelles technologies, notre équipe est formée de 4 membres dynamiques venant d’horizons totalement différents. Commerce, informatique, ingénierie et psychologie font partie de l’éventail de nos activités professionnelles. Géographiquement, nous sommes présents en France, en Belgique et en Espagne et nous maîtrisons donc l’anglais, l’espagnol, le catalan, l’allemand et le français.
Curieux et impatients d’en savoir plus sur BitShares nous avons fouillé Internet en quête d’informations sur ce dernier et nous nous sommes aperçu qu’il existait un manque, que rien n’était disponible dans la langue de Molière.
C’est à ce moment qu’a germé dans nos esprits l’idée de créer un site francophone dédié à BitShares et aux news s’y rapportant. L’information étant le fer de lance pour la promotion d’un projet tel que Bitshares, nous allons tout mettre en oeuvre pour permettre à la communauté francophone d’y accéder.
De cette façon, vous pourrez suivre en temps réel l’évolution de BitShares si vous êtes débutant dans les crypto-monnaies, si le sujet vous passionne, si vous envisagez d’y investir ou si l’investissement est déjà réalisé.
Notre équipe se met donc à votre disposition pour vos premiers pas sur Bitshares et vous accompagnera tout le long du développement de cette fantastique aventure.

Une section “news” où nous traduisons les articles récents les plus intéressants.
Une section novice qui permet à une personne qui n’a jamais entendu parler de BitShares (voir même de Bitcoin) de pouvoir découvrir son fonctionnement et ses avantages.
Une section “news” en anglais pour que les plus anglophones de notre communauté puissent y retrouver l’entièreté de l’actualité de BitShares.
Une section vidéo qui contient les vidéos de Max Wright (dont les sous-titres ne sauraient tarder) et une section ou nous produirons nos propres vidéos. Nous commencerons par des vidéos didactiques.
Un forum via lequel la communauté francophone pourra exprimer ses idées, poser ses question et communiquer avec nous. We also have a “international” section in the forum if you don’t speak french but want to post or communicate.
Finalement, la cerise sur le gâteau, nous offrons gratuitement l’ouvrage “101 BitShares” de Max Wright traduit par notre équipe en français !!!
C’est avec grand plaisir que nous vous invitons donc à rejoindre la communauté BitShares francophone et faire de ce lieu, avec notre collaboration, un carrefour de l’information.

It would be great for BitShares to have the top BitGold video and BitMarkets videos get a lot of views so I've suggested he mentions BitShares, BitGold & BitUSD more in the titles or descriptions. He says a few like that are in the pipeline.
That video is a good/quick introduction to BitShares. I want to add fench sub titles on the video to include it in a project coming very soon.
Is somebody has a way to contact the video owner ? I tried it via youtube but I got no answers.

So if I understand it well, my shorts will be auto cover at 10% higher than the price feed when all the previous sorts still waiting will be covered ?
What will happen when the expiration date of my shorts will reach 0 days ? They will disapear and I will get a notificacion in the furture when it's covered ?
It's the frist time I reach that point and I'm a little worry about what is next.

I agree, we reach a point were most of the bitshares are in the hands of people understanding the value of BitShares on the term.
These persons are not selling. They are sitting on their investment, eating pop corn and waiting for the show to begin !
The price should'nt be able to keep falling much more.

I sent the command in the console. I wasn't sure if I had to write my acount name in capital letters or not so I did it both ways.
I got this :
Then I check in the recent transaction I found the 3 shorts before they got (weirdly) "changed. Here they are
The weird thing is that when I go to the exchange and take a look at them they are transformed to other values with other interest rate.
I completely sure I'm not confusing them with others because I have all of them in an exel table and I can compare them easily.
These 3 shorts have changed slightly. The sum of theses 3 is roughly the same (about 5$ more)
Here they are :
Is not a big deal because all my money is there. I have even 5 bitUSD more.
I just wanted to report it if it happened to someone else.

Hello,
I did an exel table to put all my shorts together to have an average price for them two weeks ago
I was working on that table today and wanted to make a new one (more practical), I copied and pasted again all my shorts in the new table. Something really scary happend, 3 shorts are differents in value from the last time.
I did have some crashes with the wallet and had to wipe out everything and reinstall it. Did I do something wrong ? Why the shorts have changed ? Could I have delete the files where the shorts were saved ?
The 3 shorts have almost the same sum put together but their individual ptices and interest rate have changed.

Several of us probably had already this feeling of touching the price bottom and then get disapointed by this one falling a little more.
Well, this time, I wouldn't be surprised that we really touch bottom or very near to it.
If investments in bitshares were very lucrative these last months (and still are), right now is insanely more !!!
I'm no one to give advices but I did get a "few" birshares more today ... ;p

Agreed, interesting nonetheless.
I have gotten more done for the future of BTS in the past month than in the 3 months prior and everyone on the core team knows it.
Except ultimately, BitShares is likely going to be even LESS inflationary than Bitcoin even with all delegates at 100% (and that won't happen). So actually from everything I've read the Incorrect perception that BitShares is truly "inflationary" is a hard sell for those who have been around here reading the analysis over time on the forum.
Bitcoin is going to change or die. It cannot change, though, without pissing a bunch of people off, which will cause problems for it. Bitcoin needs something better than the "Bitcoin foundation" to rule it.
BitShares actually gives the citizenry a way to choose the course of BitShares in a more stable and less volatile way--BAKED INTO THE DAMNED CAKE! This means that once we all figure out how to best utilize those tools (and some of those tools are built by people -- like bitsapphire and many others), our problems will not hold us back at all because we will more easily adapt to them.
Everyone here does recognize BitShares is just a little bit over 1 year old and Bitcoin has been around for almost 7, right? Let's everyone here do me a favor and lets promise to get on Mumble in 5 more years and look over this post together--and record the commentary.
One caveat though--I get to drink a bunch of Gin and laugh at all of you who are hanging your heads right now...and you have to laugh too, cause you will have to admit how ridiculous this fear was.
It's a question I ask to myself a lot lately ; what does prevent bitcoin of upgrading his current noneffective tech & POW system to our BitShares way of doing things ? We would have the same tech but no market cap and no public reputation. That is not something that would hurt us but simply destroy the project.
Maybe it's not the best time to ask it, everybody is stressed enough with the price playing with our cortisol level but I'm probably not the only one who had this interrogation. An answer for someone with good knowledge about this could add some peace in some minds.
I don't postpone this question because, let's be reasonable, in a very near future BitShares will rock the world of cryptos and there won't be places for doubts anymore ... So, I enjoy the time of doubts and stressy questions, it won't last for long
