OMG! More ideological BS. Stop dreaming and make a decent exchange which could be used by merchants.

What are some of those merchants , could you name a few ?

The dex is finished.
No. Until it has decent profit model (percent based fee system) it is not finished.

I dont think he meant "completed" .

General Discussion / Governmania - The Game.
« on: December 29, 2015, 09:02:11 am »
Over the years we all have witnessed many successful video games that evolved into something larger than just a game. These games influence players to some extent in a way that shapes their culture, behavior  and lifestyle . Games are a great way to enter minds. Now that we have a very powerful technology why dont we invent a video game that simulates an environment in which participants compete for an income by offering their services , similar to current bitshares system. In this game I would like to see officials being dismissed in a second if they dont do their jobs, just like with bitshares. In this game the table will be turned the other way,  users will try to grab a piece of the pie without an intermediary, an even playfield for everyone.  A fun game with blockchain technology integration might demonstrate the new generation how a government should work, and you never know maybe this will lead to whole lot of different future. peace

Cant there be a verification mechanism using memos ? Unless the memo code matches the one given by the receiver the transaction will not go through ... something like that ..

I really would like to see how permissions work, few videos about it would be awesome .

1. great aims, makes you imagine if someday stores can include such POS and people can buy goods using cell phone wallet.
2. but think twice, what they actually offer is just the software to do so, and does not include any plans to persuade stores to use it.
3. Are softwares the key to realize this goal? No, just like carts using bts has been written for a long time, still almost no one is using it.
4. To sum up, the keys to enable people purchasing goods using cryptos at stores in your neighborhood are a) find the correct target that would like to try this with minimal efforts and costs and b) a correct strategy to avoid potential legal issue in some countries
5. Is what I am talking about possible? Yes, check this out if you have not read this:
https://medium.com/@digital654321/familymart-now-accpets-bitoex-s-bitcoin-wallet-to-buy-goods-b85c9bac78f2#.j0w9fw1na

In brief, a small Taiwan bitcoin exchange BitoEX has cooperated with Familymart convinience store to buy goods at every Familymart in your neighborhood in Taiwan. And the way they doing it, using bitcoin to buy coupons that you use to exchange into goods, avoids potential legal problems. All BitoEX has to do is to write is a small software for the small computer (aka Famiport) used in every Familymart. Simple enough for the developer team and the store. Once again, the key thing is the business strategy, not any fancy program.

I have a feeling that bitshares ecosystem will need something like a crypto bank offering this service to the crypto space. An account can be created for a participating merchant and when that account is paid for a product with crypto,  the crypto bank will pay the merchant in fiat.  Similar to Nano card , but in this case customer wont need a debit card but transactions will be taken care of by this intermediary crypto bank. At this stage there is still a need for an intermediary. Fiat money has banks serving it why doesnt crypto have its own banks ?

You wrote "Funds are sent directly to the merchant's BitShares account (required)" ;

My only concern is whether merchants will be receptive to this idea since they will need to receive payments to their bitshares accounts, and that seems to be a problem in terms  tax requirements. Over here where I am from every purchase I make there is VAT included and that tax has nothing to do with the merchant but tax authorities require merchants to hand over those taxes to the Internal Revenue Service. Hence , the merchant in this case acts as an intermediary tax collecting agent who is required to pass those taxes to the authorities.  Now, as merchants probably purchase inputs using fiat money receiving cryptocurrency as a payment might complicate their accounting procedure in terms of taxes. I would like to hear how this will be solved. It seems to me  that for the time being there is a need for an intermediary entity acting as the payer- like a teller serving  the bitshares ecosystem. Ken ?
