Thanks for the explanation. Yes having separate blockchains for the type of markets you are interested is definitely a clever efficiency mechanism.

So do you envision one chain for currencies, one for the NASDAQ, one for the FTSE etc?

And are the separate chains initiated by Invictus, or can anyone start a chain?

Anyone can start one, but the SCSL license on the BitShares code will require honoring PTS/AGS holders ;)

What if someone basically copies the BTS source code for a new chain but changes it a little bit?

Adam, what did you mean by that sentence
Quote
One thing to note is that Ether is a relatively medium-term opportunity compared to other metacoin layers since the
money supply goes up forever at a relatively fast rate.   Ether is not as inherently deflationary as Bitcoin for example.

Medium term compared to short or long term? ;)
Bitcoin and more so Ether are inflationary until mining is (almost) done...

Honestly I see another full PoS currency coming out, but of course fixing the distribution issue and doing great.

you mean bitshares?
Well that too. We are developing better full PoS code. I see someone forking that and creating another top 10 crypto.

The way bitshares is (thought to be) structured, does it have the potential to be used as a currency in daily life?

Yes

What will BTS transaction/block time be?

BitShares CEX is our brand for our first Commodities EXchange. That would equal the colored coins idea?

Nope, colored coins are digital bearer bonds...

Yes. Does I3 plan on something with colored coins? And what is CEX then? Where can I read about it?

Every BitShares X chain has certain assets it trades, "CEX" was for commodity derivatives and is otherwise the same as every other BitShares X chain.

What are examples for things traded on BEX compared to CEX?

Dan sitting on a panel at a conference would give I3 and Bitshares great credibility...

The past 2 conferences I have been on panels and this conference we are hosting an entire reception with our branding all over it.

+1

will you also speak at a panel or give a presentation?

Hi - I'm Gregory Wexler - 'WildWex' (Los Angeles) - I haven't fully engaged within this forum as I've been head-first into all things crypto-currency and crypto-equities since June 2013, attending MeetUps (we had over 250 people at the last Los Angeles Bitcoin Meetup, and 200 the week before), spending a lot of time reading, and learning, attending conferences and of course the Las Vegas Inside Bitcoin's conference.  I'll focus more time here on the forums connecting with each of you.  Many thanks!

Nice. What do you do with I3?
