General Discussion / Re: What R3 think of our bitassets / smartcoins
« on: November 29, 2016, 02:43:41 pm »
Right, using Bitcoin as collateral would not solve the problem of volatility.  Bitshares would work the same way. Managing the collateral is a simple business risk that can be professionally managed by experts. As long as one does not replace the Bitcoin nor the USD both sides are fine.

The idea of pooled collateral is an interesting perspective. Would that reduce the individual loss and spread it among all issuers? In the Bitshares blockchain today everybody has to manage their risk level themselves. A bigger BTS buffer helps in volatile times.

General Discussion / Re: Withdraw BitUSD to your bank account.
« on: November 25, 2016, 03:52:59 pm »
I've made a quick video showing how to withdraw BitUSD to you bank account via uphold.com

https://youtu.be/IFs-iFJ8Y3Y

I cut this video a bit short as it displayed some of my bank details. but you just withdraw to USD bank account at 0% fee and have to wait 1-3 days

Obviously you have to pay upholds conversion fee of 0.45% and whatever blocktrades charges to convert BitUSD to BTC.

Nice little tutorial, I will tweet about it.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [Worker Proposal] BitShares Webdesign Mockup
« on: November 18, 2016, 10:55:33 am »
I believe it would be beneficial to see a BitShares dynamic transparency page with listings similar to:

https://uphold.com/en/transparency

This page could list smartcoins and also UIAs of bridges and gateways.

Shareholders would then know that their assets are backed by transparent and accountable financial services (no fractional reserves).

That is a very good idea. I like their breakdown of their reserves. Do you have a suggestion how we can arrange the data fields? at the end, we would need a simple mockup for the devs.

I meet with the design team on Tuesday and we discussed the subside design for the site. Each of the three categories will look similar but store different information. We have a) Private users b) Business c) Developers and maybe d) Blockchain geeks (talking about DAC,DAO etc.)

Hi guys, I want to give you a short update about BlockPay and what we have been working on the last few days.

We had to fire our old marketing partners because they did not perform the way we wanted. We now added 2 more people to the core team who will be in charge of all social media channels and keep reporting about our journey. One of the first articles is out already, check out bitshares[/member]-munich/the-faces-behind-blockpay-christoph-and-rodrigo]https://steemit.com/blockpay/@bitshares-munich/the-faces-behind-blockpay-christoph-and-rodrigo .

For direct updates please also follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/BlockPay_ch and on Facebook https://facebook.com/blockpayde and on Steemit https://steemit.com/@bitshares-munich

Latest Development
Let us take a look at the current software development. We are making great process in the IPFS in C development and further decentralizing the BlockPay core and building up the BlockPay engine. This new DAP structure allows us to install BlockPay on any kind of hardware! Not only on Android and iOS but also on a raspberry pi´s and other mainframes. Imagine you could pay with your Bitcoin at vending machines, petrol stations, power sockets, doors, etc.
We are already talking with industry partners for upcoming integration.

On the other side, we are working on a redesign of the current UI/UX to increase merchant adoption. The onboarding process gets redesigned as well as the settings cleaned out. I will soon share some first design mockups to the community.

Meanwhile, we are ramping up development work with stealth transaction on the Bitshares blockchain. We are now able to hide (sender, receiver, amount, memo field, meta data) from blockchain explorers. Only a timestamp will be left. Stealth is a highly requested feature for all merchants who want to move corporate funds on a blockchain. With this feature, we actually build a hybrid between a public and a private blockchain and give the whole industry a new option to store and move funds on a blockchain. Together with a scalable blockchain, stealth transactions gonna be faster, more secure, more private and easier to use than ZCash or Monero. More exciting news about our development here in the following weeks.

Please FIRST clarify with the owner of bitshares.org if they agree with a redesign and you proposal .. otherwise, the BTS shareholders are burning funds with no statement from the current owner of the domain!!

Sure will do. We don´t want to burn funds for nothing :)

I like the idea of new info graphics and howtos etc. and I think you should get paid for this. But for bitshares.org I'd rather like to see a more static website with timeless design and no maintenance needed. Like bitcoin.org IMHO

Hey guys,

it has been a while and I have been busy with all the BlockPay development. In the meantime, I worked together with the design team of myfable and we worked out the following new design mockup for bitshares.org

What do you think about the design?
The next step now is to get a second design for one of the subsides for Private Consumers and Business Clients. I will also get a dev bid for all of you and see how much it would cost to develop the site in a short time.

cheers Chris

Awesome a new Android Wallet for Bitshares! Thank you Alt and welcome back  +5% +5%

This is the right step forward since we have a couple of MPA that black swanned and are unusable. I would support a community approach to reset all black swanned markets in an HF and also implement better code to restart an MPA in trouble.

When I understand the black swan right then all affected MPA will be automatically converted back to the collateral right? So the Blockchain would pull my BitUSD from my Bitshares account and replace it with 100% BTS in value of the taken BitUSD.

Looks like someone of the core team are going out. forme2cu, the 6th richest blockpay owner are selling all tokens.

Nobody from the core team is selling BlockPay Tokens, and all three parties are well known. I don´t know forme2cu, but I am happy to connect and have a chat. The new BlockPay engine will be amazing.

Technical Support / Re: STEALTH clarifications
« on: October 25, 2016, 11:13:50 am »
@karnal  Ken was super busy the last 4 weeks to recruit the dev team for stealth. He got most of his core team together. It is a bigger project than we all thought but it will be a dynamite product and beat all other solutions out there. I visited a few conferences and every time the topic of private vs- public chains pops up again. Most corporates need privacy which is usually not given on a public chain, so I am convinced that Stealth transactions will provide an exciting hybrid for merchants so that they can join a public blockchain while beeing private with their financial transactions.

Btw, we are restructuring the BlockPay core engine and implement IFPS, which will be an essential technology for Stealth too. Good news will be released soon.

I think we have a couple of other problems that we have to work on right now. One of them is the jammed cryptofresh blockchain explorer that is down.
