So with Public Key like:
 BTS7K7BANmscaqwp7NfRvpiQo3s6fCAFsY253QrtGiGerrmsiw3es
you (or anybody) can't see my balance (like in bitcoin) right?
That is at least how bitshares 0.9 works .. BitShares 2.0 will be different for
efficiency reasons.

I am wondering is it worth me to try run a core bitshares client again
https://bitshares.org/download/
with my laptop:

Windows 7, 32bits   2,72GB of RAM (not 4GB as recommended)  and  HDD 500GB, ( not Solid State Drive as recommended)???

Or I should buy new hardware?

I'd say you should try wit your hardware .. though you can expect it to take
quite a bit ..
if you are on windows, you may want to use the bitshares_client.exe (cli
version) until fully synced ... (you can check with "info" once your see ">>>")

Thank you for your answer! :-)

One more question.

Is it possible to see my account balance without actually logging-in  any wallet?
No .. account names are independent from addresses and it's balances

Welcome to the bitshares community m200,

the web wallet @wallet.bitshares.org is not capable of importing private keys ... unfortunatelly, neither is the (rather new) mobile wallet released by Elmato (yet) ..
The only client that is currently capable of importing a private key is the core bitshares client available at the webpage ..

I understand you frustration when it comes to syncing with the blockchain .. rest assured that the devs are currently working hard to make bitshares 2.0 A LOT more robust and less resource hungry ..

Sorry for the inconvenience ..

Hello.

I am new with bitshares and have a few questions.  I am looking for ways to securely store bitshares for longer time.  My best guest is to store them in a paper wallet, like:

https://github.com/xeroc/jshares

but I can’t find a way to import privet keys from my paper wallet.

I have found an advice here:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=17114.0

“To spend the funds on the paper wallet, all you need to do is import the private key to a internet connected wallet. This is merely typing in the private key and pressing 'import' or 'sweep'.”

....but on my online wallet:

https://wallet.bitshares.org/

I can’t find an option to “press import or sweep”.

And my wallet on my computer:
https://bitshares.org/download/

Freezes than last time I have tried to use it, maybe because I am using Windows 7 32bit version with 2,72GB of RAM in use.

I appreciate any advice.

Thank you
