TL;DR I'm still around doing my thing, just not posting on the forums as much.
Great news and nice to see you around again  :)

You guys should stop salivating over one low volume trade where some guy fat fingered an order and was off be a decimal place.

At the time of the post the volume appeared huge.  No salivation here.. just found it amusing and curious.  :-X

Seems the bot has lost one digit and was buying nubits until it reach 10x the original price  :D
So probably one custodian is now out of the game  :'(

edit: I just saw your above message  :)
It looks like someone screwed up a decimal place on the BTC price and the bot went bonkers lol

so a good tactic is to have open sell orders about 8 times the dollars price... it will happen again for sure  8)
(and maybe open buy orders at  8 times lower price)

If the bot overpaid for NuBits by 8x it's real price in BTC, doesn't that mean NuShares has opened itself up to a huge risk of insolvency since it's used as collateral?

LOL It looks like a bot went rogue or something.  Is there a way to short this???

buy on BTER then move to CCEDK... and sell  :P

No more buyers at that price  :-[

I can't recall which user, but someone in another thread suggested "bUSD", "bGLD", etc. which works well too IMO.

Nice!

This should really pick up when our marketing funnels start signing up wallet users in the next month or so.
Could you elaborate on the "marketing funnels"?

The only issue I see is that a person could simply make multiple different BTS accounts and use each one to repeat the test.

I think there are a few ways this could be prevented.  Each experiment could have an associated access code that's generated prior to the start and expires within a certain time period.

I think Play can handle the gaming for now.
Why couldn't the BitShares wallet just have an 'app store' that has a Games section with the DACs like Play?  It'd allow for BitShares to do cross-chain trading such as the upcoming noteUSD>bitUSD conversion too.

I added the nodes and have between 10-20 network connections but it's still stuck on block 566049.

General Discussion / Re: Shapeshift API into Bitshares Wallet?
« on: January 31, 2015, 06:50:21 pm »

May I make a suggestion....

You are looking at the wrong end of the horse.

A bitshares wallet that does X attracts about 500 eyeballs.

A bitcoin wallet that does X attracts 100,000's of eyeballs.

We need to build a bitcoin wallet.  branded as a bitcoin wallet, that allows hedging of bitcoin with no counterparty  risk.   Bitshares is never mentioned.  perhaps bitusdis mentioned, but it is certainly not front and centre.   IF we do that then we begin a stampede into bitUSD on the next bitcoin price drop.   And we dont have to pay a penny in advertising.  Coindesk, word of mouth and reddit will do all the work for us.   You won't be able to get Barry Silbert and every other pundit to shut up about how bitcoins volatility problem has been solved on CNBC.

Not one penny of advertising needed.

And the good news is it is 90% done.
bitshares lite wallet is in final testing.
shape shift API and lens code is open source and ready to use.   And I have a friend with an established bitcoin wallet that is open source. He cannot dedicate developers to doing this but is happy to pus it live in his existing wallet with thousands of users.   We are talking a month or two tops of development if someone from this community can do that.

Anyone?

+5 !  This is exactly what's needed.
