Title: unable to import wallet.dat
Post by: racingdude on August 22, 2014, 05:24:43 am
I am trying to import my wallet.dat into BitsharesX and getting this error:

"Failed to restore wallet backup. Your original wallet has been restored. Error: Bad Cast (7) Invalid cast from null_type to Array"

any clues? How do I proceed from here?

idk if this bug has been fixed or not yet,

but if the path says "file:\\\" in front of it, delete that.

BitShares does not use wallet.dat files. If you are trying to import bitcoin/PTS private keys into BitShares, use the wallet_import_bitcoin command.

I finally get what he is trying to do ..
vikram is (of course) right
this is what you need to do

- create a new wallet
- create an account
- within the 'advanced' menu of that account import the pts wallet.dat file!
