Did anyone else who sent money for lottoshares still not get a confirmation e-mail?
I brought some more shares and got a confirmation e-mail. But still none for my first buy.

Online gambling seems much safer.

Well apparently Ronny or someone he knows owns a virtual bitcoin casino. who knows in the future if both projects could join. Imagine having shares on something like SatoshiDice or something like that. But I'm also of this opinion.

Interesting idea but very high risk. What if people decide they wont trust the new Lottoshares brand? What if marketing fails?

Online gambling seems much safer. We need another interview, with a lot more information,  specifically on marketing with real data backing the marketing strategy, and success rate tracking so that perhaps even in realtime the Lottoshare holders can see the growth rate.

If Lottoshare holders see steady growth in the gambling base, and see success in marketing in a quantified way, then once a critical threshold is reached it will become self sustaining.

"Hey guys, we also accept 1/2 bitcoins too."

As a matter of fact, we do!

Thanks for pointing that out Newmine.

Also, the email confirms should be setup by tomorrow for all donations.

bitUSD should be confirmed tomorrow, we are testing everything as I type this.
I haven't received any email for my purchase yet.
Pleased private message me your transaction details. Did you use Bitcoin or bit USD?

We have a lottoshares section now! Maybe all info regarding lottoshares should be moved there

For whatever reason, lottoshares.com doesn't always show the amount raised so far. Last time it happened, I hit refresh and it fixed it. This time, that did not work. Tried a second browser, and after hitting refresh it displayed correctly.

I finished watching Michael X's  YouTube  reply  video   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjOfzSZDr4I. Other should do the same so I'm not the only one that clicked like. It answered many of the questions I asked here. I have email conformation that my bitcoins were sent to my special LottoShare address. So my only fear is that I typed my email address wrong.

I didn't get a confirmation e-mail from my contribution, either. That function may not be working, though of course you can track it on the blockchain. But I trust these guys. The e-mail I'll look forward to getting is the one that says I can claim my shares.  ;)

Hey guys,

New here, BTS holder and Lotto Shares holder ( I think?)

couple questions,

1. Why do you not send a conformation  email of funds recieved?
2. Can I send multiple donations to the same email address.

Thanks!
Multiples are allowed from same email.

Check your spam folder to see if the email actually came, we did have a confirmation email that went out.

Will take a look at the MX and SPF records and see if there's any problems there, then we will evaluate. I think because the word motto is in the domain and makes it harder to deliver.

Thanks for joining in the donation phase, I appreciate your vote of confidence and I assure you I will do everything in my power to make this project as profitable as possible.

I came here to ask these two question too. I signed up and brought LottoShares.  Haven't got any email from this. My Gmail spam folder is empty.
I'll check on why. Its a blockchain wallet if you donated bitcoin you should be able to see your donation come through.

On Jan 1, are you sending out any email to every one asking for their wallet address to clam their LottoShares? Or is this in that conformation email?  And I should add ... 'High +5%' on your work.
YES on lauch date everybody that donated will receive emails on how to claim their shares. Alternatively you can look at our info graphics as well as our instructions on how to claim shares. I know in the past any time a crowd fund was done, they did not send a confirmation email upon donation. We will try to notify everyone upon receipt, however, not everyone who puts in their email address donates.

Well, this sounds like a great plan. I am contributing to your bake sale. Best of luck with it.

Question: Hypothetically, if your bake sale ends up in the range of $150k-$500k, then do contributors still get 25% or is it going to be pro-rated somehow?

We are raising $500,000 total for funds to expand lottery to Bahamas, and pay for dev work to create the first physical lottery with physical customers ran on the blockchain.

Once we raise $150,000, we are initiating the start of the plan, which is to hire 3x more staff and more locations on island.

You may want to store things in a nuclear bunker...well above the high tide line.

Batten down the hatches!

Actually, the last hurricane that hit Sint Maarten caught us unaware and nailed our house pretty good - flooded the whole bottom floor.

Of course, when you have a house that has no wall on one side (so you can enjoy a view) and don't get there to close the shutters in time - well - you get the idea.

Out of curiosity does anyone know the revenue of any known lotteries? What places are you thinking to expand to? Nearby regions? How much do any lotteries on those regions generate in revenue? Since I only know EuroMillions from Europe. Would be interesting to know more about that market in other regions if anyone has the knowledge.

Does Fantasy has other businesses other than lotto? If yes,
Do FantasyLotto 3 partners (all except lottoshares holders) also have a stake on those businesses?

Bahamas is next on the list for expansion, then we will see from there.  Unknown about other lotteries in that area - however, Bahamians are forbidden from gambling.  They get around it by using internet cafes (web shops are what THEY call then), and using the online gambling features.  In the Carib, they at least foster an open usage of the internet, and this method for the time being gets around those regulations.

European regions I am not sure of....

Fantasy Lottery has the physical lottery and online gambling site accessed online and through web shops on the island.

LottoShares partners (excl lottoshares regular holders) have a stake in the management company running the lottery, the tech company leasing the online software and lottery selection, and a stake in lottoshares itself.  We will likely retain our lottoshares stake for use of possible outside investment (AFTER the vesting period we agreed to minimum), but we anticipate no need for that, just making sure of eventualities being covered.

St Martin has a population of 77,791 people. Seems like an awful lot of tickets per person to produce 30,000,000 in revenue.

How much does a ticket go for currently?

If they're a dollar per ticket and everybody on the island buys a ticket per month (even though some can't because they're children) that comes out to 933,492.

Rounding up to a million because I'm using old census data and some people may buy multiple tickets.

(I do realize I'm talking about the other lottery on the island)

It is a huge island destination for many French and Dutch visitors, besides the island dwellers themselves.  There are also multiple cruise ships passing through on a daily basis, so there are more customers for the lottery than island residents alone.

People tend to buy multiple tickets, average pricing is $5 US

It's an online lottery, right? Just "based" in SM? Theoretically, someone in another jurisdiction could play, though I'd discourage it if it were illegal in yours.

http://www.fantasysxm.com/register

That's the website for Fantasy, the one we'd be buying into. I think. It seems to only be willing to let you register if you're in St. Martin

edit: or maybe it's just asking what base country you want to play out of, and there's only one option at the moment?

but the 30,000,000 figure was quoted for a competitor. Maybe this one?
http://www.thecaribbeanlottery.com/stmaarten_retailers

In which case the answer to your question is no, it's not online.

Perhaps some of the extra could come from tourism? Maybe I'm missing something else. I'm not trying to piss on the parade here, just asking questions.

Should be pretty obvious to do so after what happened to Ethereum

You are damn right there.

SO would you brilliant fellows suggest we liquidate btc daily for bitUSD?

Definitely convert to bitUSD from btc daily... I'm sure your business plan is to make money via the lotto, not speculating on bitcoin.  If bitcoin were to go up and you made money it would be luck, and real business's don't run on luck.

Agreed on all counts.  Thanks for the perspective.  I also updated the OP with details Akado mentioned.

Thanks for the feedback gents.   +5% +5% +5%

Since there's 90 days I guess you could wait maybe 2 weeks or so to see how the peg works out on 2.0 and whenever you feel confident, trade the btc into bitUSD and/or other stable bitAssets.

Also would be nice if you could post some info regarding what you talked about in the interview. Namely that you don't need the full $500,000 to be fully functional, that each share is 80cent and after a certain number 250,000? (correct me) they would go to $1,25 or $1,20. Feel free to correct me those numbers might not be 100% correct. Sales end January 1st 2016 and shares are sharedropped into the wallet and on April 1st (possibly the 2nd lel) shares will get unlocked for trading in the markets. Feel free to correct me. Thought it would be nice to share this, could get more ppl interested.

And also that the only other lottery on the island makes $30M/year... If you could get even 5% of that  :-X

We should have the contribution tab setup to accept bitUSD by Monday.

I took DataSecurityNode's advice and got it ready to setup and rock.

BitShares wallet = lottosharesdonations   (not active until next week)

We are already seeing contributions, and the timer is now active as of today.

See the replay and walkthrough here: http://linksfrom.us/lottoshares-replay

"Shares" will be dropped into contributors wallets on Jan 1, 2016.

Monthly Buyback of LottoShares will begin on April 2016.

Please spread the word, and prove to the world that BITASSETS and BLOCKCHAIN are here to stay, and we aim to change the world one way or another.

Remember, that LottoShares are assets on the BitShares network, and can be traded in many different pairs once shares are unlocked for trade.

Here is how the LottoShares work:
First 250,000 shares are priced at $.80
Remaining 250,000 shares will be priced at $1.20

Start Date: October 1, 2015
Shares dropped to participants on Jan 1, 2016
Shares unlocked for trade, sale, buyback on April 1, 2016
Buyback date (TENTATIVE) will likely be the 28th of every month starting on April 28th, 2016

Intent For Funds Raised:
We are raising $500,000 total for funds to expand lottery to Bahamas, and pay for dev work to create the first physical lottery with physical customers ran on the blockchain.

Once we raise $150,000, we are initiating the start of the plan, which is to hire 3x more staff and more locations on island.

Even if we do not reach $500k raised, as long as we hit $150k it is a go.

If we can only Raise 150k, it will take longer to expand and to dev the blockchain lottery, but we will commit to doing that either way - it will just take much longer to get it dev'd out.

There is only 1 other lottery on the island, and they bring in $30,000,000 per year in revenue.  Even just a small percentage of that becomes an epic win.

Let me know if you have any questions, or write us here at info [at] lottoshares.com
