General Discussion / Re: Announcing Brownie Points (BROWNIE.PTS)
« on: December 07, 2015, 11:56:21 am »
I don't think its a good idea to publish my numbers

I am begging for stealth (blinded) transactions and multisig in the light wallet. The moment we see stealth, that is the day whales and savers will start to move in to Bitshares. Multisig will bring in more businesses and their investors. The Asset Bot (it creates UIA/FBA for you) will help to shield them.

That's not my point

No, it's my point.. prioritization. Let's bring liquidity.

"kenCode" 10000 BROWNIE.PTS  (I am fairly certain your Point of Sale work has taken you far more than 100 hours of work, but this is at least something from the community for all of it Ken.  Thanks for doing what you do and also thanks for doing it without asking for anything in return.  However, I think you should definitely consider a worker proposal).

he was paid as a delegate. always thought brownies are for free workers?

To my knowledge he was never paid as a delegate.  Perhaps ken can clarify.  However, I will also clarify that my opinion in sending brownies to free workers is that they are a prime candidate...but it is more "severely underpaid" community members (honestly...you fit quite well in this demographic fav).

I know all too well how hard it is to work for bitshares day by day for very low wages.   While much of our community seems to think we can just not pay these people and expect others to come in just because of the referral system...I think we are kidding ourselves.  At least this is the case so early in the game.  If we had bitcoin's, or even ethereums network effect...I'd likely say otherwise.

here's when he got voted in https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16072.msg221921.html#msg221921
Delegate pay was trivial compared to the work done at this market cap.

I had this issue a couple times on BTS but not MUSE. For BTS I created a new wallet and tried again and for whatever reason it worked.

General Discussion / Cryptohedge Final Buyback Announcement.
« on: December 06, 2015, 04:30:55 pm »
Folks,

It has almost been a year since the hack of BTER killed off the Cryptohedge project. During that time Rune and I have been buying back cryptohedge assets like CFSGOLD, CFSUSD, and CFSUSDA as people contact us. I make a post like this every few months to try and get more folks who bought in to sell me back their assets so we can clear the books.

We will be ending the buyback period at midnight New York time (Eastern Standard) DECEMBER 31 2015.

Once the big ball in time square has dropped the buyback will be over.

Thank you,
James.

I spoke with him a lot about his plans to return to the Philippines. I'll go back through my logs to see what village it was. It was where he had stayed before during a Peace Core or some other type of "mission". It's a place to start I guess.

Of course it's expected he's reading this forum. Criminals need to keep informed of who's looking for them.

You need to read it again then. This has nothing to do with BM or being easily deceived. Someone you've known for years and worked with for months suddenly robbing you out of the blue is not what I would call "easily deceived". Any jackass can come on after that fact and say, "omg how could you have been so stupid?" but I didn't see anything except +5% 's leading up to the heist.

i just heard this story
bm you are a 傻逼
a total 傻逼
a 傻逼 victim like
think about so many people work for bts ,but never require pay
think about some people do a lillte thing ,but require a lot of pay
傻逼 mean a person who easy to be deceived

Let me take a look.

So it looks like everything sold in reasonably quick order but the final BTC payment of 0.53817186 is showing -1 confirmations. This means the transaction was rejected by the miner for whatever reason but should clear eventually. I'll keep an eye on it.

He did spend some time in the Philippines - I think a couple years. It was in a small town there he planned to market bitUSD as a local currency. Good place to disappear to I guess.

He still has family in the area from what I've been able to tell from snooping. I've been looking at people adjacent him (family, friends, etc.) to see if there's any reference on social media but nothing.

Are the police involved yet?

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Witnesses post here. Let voters know you exist.
« on: December 02, 2015, 02:44:02 pm »

Riverhead would like your votes. Setup and ready to witness :) .

I've been a Bitshares supporter since day one and even before back in the Protoshares days. What initially brought me to this community was actually a one sided "flame" war on Bitcointalk. Bytemaster was fielding ideas, which eventually became Bitshares, and the community there was about as hostile as a Youtube comment thread. BM took it all in stride and responded to each question in a sane and rational manner rather than fanning the flames. This was someone who believed in what they were saying.

Fast forward a couple years and the project is still aiming to fulfill its primary objective however others have come to recognize the power of this ecosystem. Cob, and by extension MUSE and Peertracks, are leveraging this new technology to address one of the most screwed up businesses next to finance - Music. Since its announcement I have been very excited about the possibility of the Music project and would love to be a part of the solution.

Though I am not a musician I have come across a number in my lifetime and many have similar nightmare stories about the music industry. There was a Canadian band I listened to growing up called, "The Gandharvas". They were a young band out of Kingston, Ontario, Canada and had a hit getting a lot of airplay on Much Music. When I next ran into them at a local pub they said they broke up because they couldn't afford gas for their van to continue touring. Anyone reading this knows where all the money went.

A better way is long overdue and a blockchain secured peer to peer infrastructure just might be it.

General Discussion / Re: Example of short USD
« on: November 27, 2015, 12:24:15 pm »

As soon as you confirm the parameters the BTS will be locked up as collateral and your account will be credit with 500 freshly minted bitUSD from the blockchain. If the BTS price falls to the point your position is under collateralized, 548 BTS/USD in your case, your short will get called.

Also, and someone can correct me if I misstate, if you are the least collateralized position and someone forces a settlement (the Settle button) for their bitUSD you will be forced to sell at the settlement price.

Just waiting to get some liquidity in place. Everything works perfectly thanks to @monsterer.
