Title: SEO Help Needed
Post by: bytemaster on August 01, 2014, 09:09:42 pm
We need to really take over google and to do that we need a lot of blog articles talking about what is going on.   Content needs to stay FRESH and be updated daily to maximize rankings.    More instructions will follow as we hear from our partners, but I would like to look for people who feel they can write something brief... perhaps 3 or 4 paragraphs per day about something related to this industry and include links to us.

This will serve two purposes... SEO and helping those who want to follow us stay up to speed.

Are you going to make it into something like this? https://www.litecoinglobal.com/
How about letting people log into Bitshares itself from your site? Is it technically possible?

This way if someone isn't at their computer or if they don't have it installed they can still log into it. It would give people something to talk about too.

For anyone else registering domains the most important thing about these sorts of blogs that I've learned from the Blackcoin community is to come up with very good names.

Examples
DailyBlackcoin.com
BlackCoinTV
Blackcoindirectory.com

And so on.

Register names which produce good or compelling mental images or frames for the person reading it. Make the names catchy. Take your time selecting names before registering domain names. Put Bitshares and/or it's technology in the name if you can.

So how about
BitsharesDaily.com
DelegatedProof.com
DelegatedWork.com
BitsharesTV
BitsharesDirectory

and so on.

Scan the Blackcoin and Dogecoin community for ideas on how to do it as they are experts at setting blogs up. Focus on technical analysis if you set up a BitsharesDaily type blog because you're trying to attract and entertain speculators. Have some charts up, some price modelling app so people can see where the price could go along with a nice graph.

See the DailyBlackcoin site to see how a technical analysis blog should look and what sections it needs.

After a site is set up then crowd source the community to come up with a unique slogan for each website. This way the essence of the community is in each blog or site.

I will volunteer a section on my alternative news site if anyone wants to register on my site and PM me with their registration name I will make them an author so they can post articles.  Site is in my profile.  I have started a crypto section with some info on PTS and Bitshares but I don't have much time to write.

I am also willing to setup and maintain a specific Joomla site for the community but I don't have much time to author articles or make extensive customizations.  Just PM me Bytemaster if you want to go to that level.

Before doing any SEO there should be a list of targeted keywords.

I don't think there is a big search volume for BitShares, POS, POW, DPOS etc right now though..
Later on, when BitAssets would be out, probably a bigger audience can be targeted, e.g. by "trading", "internet trading", "crypto trading", "short usd/btc", "derivatives" keywords.
Please keep in mind that SEO these days is a very delicate matter - some techniques used just several years ago might not work now and in the worst case scenario treated as spam. A very popular approach is natural SEO - just let it grow naturally, do a regular marketing, post to social networks, let people talk about and search engines will read all those signals and will rank your content accordingly.

Also putting a link to the bitshares.org in your forum signatures will up the page rank on Google.

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to keep pace with one article per day, but I'll certainly do my best contribute something.

fuz actually approached me about a month ago about contributing to the new website he's working on. I happily agreed.

Any subjects in particular you want written about, or just want more written?

To be honest guys, the very best way you can help the Bitshares guys out on this is to help produce content that they can use for their SEO efforts.  They do not have all of the time in the world to produce the content, and by having several sources out there giving them content to works with, they will be able to get much more done much faster.  Everything from targeting Bitcoin related keywords, to more specific DAC, Bitshares related keywords will help.  We can get more of the content in the news, and ranked on the Bitshares domain to help them build their brand, authority and SEO ranking by giving it tho them.

If there is no particular demand that the content should be great I can probably spew out a lot.

Where do I go from there?

I find the things relating to marketing highly interesting for personal reasons as well. If I ever aim to produce any type of content, the lessons I learn from trying to get BitShares noticed should apply.

It would be great if someone took the initiative to explain a little more in depth how to translate "spewing out content" into "getting noticed by the rest of the world."

For instance, would it work just as well to just start name.blogspot.com as anything else? If not what minimal other steps should be taken for someone who does not want to get involved in too many technical hurdles (e.g. designing a site)?

yea how does this work? are we supposed to create a bunch of different websites to inflate some google mechanism?

Well, we primarily need a source of content for our SEO partners to leverage in a manner they have figured out.   So I don't want to create meainingless SPAM... what I want todo is have a few good blogs covering what we are doing.   We can then grow from there.

As someone pointed out you need target keywords.  There are recommended ratios.  There are domains and how long they are aged.  Creating a spam farm from a bunch of domains created at the same time is not good.  Basically any footprint that google can see that makes your site not unique may be counted against you.

Really someone needs to point out the targeted keywords/phrases.   Making bitshares point to bitshares.org has little value since it is already there.  You need things like "crypto-currencies" etc point to bitshares.org.  (or whatever)

But basically you have a firm organize all this and they just need people who can create content.  THat can be the hardest part from what I've seen.  Just takes someone keeping the content river flowing.

I'll just start producing content that is cost/efficient with my capabilities, then we can post it to one of the random blogs that emerges later if it's good enough.

I need some practice-writing anyway, slowly growing my confidence (::

I will sit down with Brian to make sure you have a good list of things to add/change on your main sites.  As for content, I can get a big keyword list to you guys.  THat being said, doing Bitshares specific and lateral type of traffic keywords then driving them to Bitshares will work.  We also will be employing several different strategies to max out that traffic and get them into the Bitshares funnel.  It is a work in process.

I am a partner on a PR/News submission network, so if you guys can write press releases and news articles about relevant items on Bitshares, new techonolgies that revolve around the crypto-world, Bitcoin news (I know that it isn't the same, but by gathering traffic to those articles we can retarget them later, as well as a few other things).  We will then take the content you produce and get them #1 in the news and general results.

If anyone wants an outlet for something(s) they write, I would happily include it on the bitsharesmarket.com site, feel free to email me at admin@bitsharesmarket.com

If each relevant article has a good keyword rich link in it pointed to a corresponding page/topic on say bitshares.org or the like, that should help BM's SEO efforts.

Can we put together a list of different content areas that are practical or needed? I have written a lot of articles on other non-fiction subjects and can churn out some content (unique for SEOs) pretty quickly if I know which area needs help. Oh, and I'm a technical dummy, so my focus would need to be on the overall market, trends, economics, why Bitshares is best, etc. I can be as wham-bam salesy or as boring as you need.

Happy to help as well in any way possible - don't have a lot of time to focus on generating content (too many projects!) but will absolutely help proofread, edit and collaborate on ideation for blog topics and subject matter.

The BeyondBitcoinX.net site, when it is completed, will enable all individuals posting to popular blog sites, or running their own, to link directly to the content from their site under delegates/delegate communities they believe would be interested.  This enables all users from the BeyondBitcoinX.net site to then retweet (or post to other social media platforms) the content they find most thought provoking, valuable to others both inside and outside the bitshares community.

Ultimately, it would be nice to see blog sites and their content creators forming alliances with delegates and delegate communities to help provide updates on projects, marketing, and even auditing and investigative journalism.  The hope is that it will enable users, online content producers and delegates to develop a symbiotic relationship that will make it easier for shareholders/activists to be able to provide their own, scalable means for making informed decisions on the best delegates for the ecosystem.

At the moment, we are leaving it open only for bitshares, so there is a great opportunity for everyone to collaborate on a bringing bitshares to the public using crowd-driven strategies.  This really could be a voltron moment if everyone jumps in and works together.  I am also interested in offering delegate teams and communities a couple spots to advertise and fund media outlets that are working in conjunction with them.  These are still somewhat fresh ideas so please feel free to give honest feedback on how we can provide a valuable service to all parties.
