MemoryCoin / Re: Mining LiveCD Project - Funds Available
« on: January 29, 2014, 02:44:44 pm »
Exiting because of faulty parameters for me - seems like memory size is being sent as 6912 . . . not divisible by 1024 and YAM rejects it.

What is the total amount of memory?

8 GB total on the machine.

Memory Coin Charts Updated.

Added:
  • MemoryCoin Reward USD
  • Technological Efficiency (Reward USD*diff)

Thanks for the new charts - the second chart shows the impact of GUI mining (from around the 30th December) and YAM's new miner (12th Jan) . . . improvements in mining should show up as lower figures on this chart and it gives us a formula for the software to estimate the MMC/USD rate based on the difficulty and block reward.

Yeah - Middlecoin for CPU coins, payouts in MMC.

I like it - I think my grandmother could understand that -

Hmm strange on another box i can run 8 threads with 1gig of memory. So I'm going to tweak the auto mode to take care of the cpu threads at maxed memory size.

Sounds like a good plan - the new 'm' parameter is the max amount of memory to use, btw, not per thread.

The approach I'm using for the zero-config GUI is to use 1GB and threads set to 0 (same as number of cores).

I think these are better defaults . . . say if you have an 8 core machine with 4GB . . . you might only be running with 3 threads with your approach. The user would see better results with 8 threads and 1GB.

It's back now - for comparison, my gmail was down for a few hours yesterday - these things happen.

Cool - is it able to autodetect AES-NI . . . or how does it deal with that config setting?

MemoryCoin / Re: Idea for a new unique feature - pool spread
« on: January 28, 2014, 09:05:33 am »
Lot of coins have this problem, this could be special if built in the protocol.

Don't think there is any way to build this into the protocol. Big pools could just pretend to be small ones.

What we're looking at, at the moment, is implementing p2pool - hopefully building it into the GUI.

We need new miners - pro at specific pools, new at all pools - and services for both.

I saw liveCD, the new mienr guide, etc. What's our newest stuff to broaden user-base?

I'm thinking a new project that would broaden the user base would be a program (MSI/GUI interface) that identified the most profitable current CPU coin to mine, and switched between CPU coins as profitability changed, and sent all funds, as received, to a MMC exchange gateway. It would need to be closed source, and bundled with all necessary miners, and zero-config, as always.

MemoryCoin / multiaddress feature - change addresses
« on: January 28, 2014, 04:52:12 am »
The multiaddress command line switch allows you to create new receiving addresses, and display them in the wallet.

However, it still uses the main wallet address for all change transactions. Should it?

Would multiaddress users prefer that it send change to a new wallet address, the default Bitcoin behaviour?

I figure our audience is something like people with +$5K and > 6 months in coins.

Yes, very much agree - we should assume fluency in Bitcoin.

I think we need to communicate our improvements over Bitcoin - mining/transaction processing distribution (CPU Coin) and paid development team.

I think we should favour charities accepting MMC directly. I know there are two already - Spices and peace geeks. Both seem to be really good causes.
I don't think we should be trying to guess market timing with charity funds. Maybe you could donate the MMC to these charities and CMO could write an article about what's being done with the funds
