Great post Thom!  +5%

*bump* Has anyone been working on this? All MPA are vulnerable to this problem.

Great work! :D

Really it is completely up to @bitcrab @alt who will be witnesses now because of the proxy power they have combined.
This does not sound decentralized. We really need a fairer representation of possible proxies rather than a static list: https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-ui/issues/135
I think BSIP-005 would also be massively beneficial https://github.com/bitshares/bsips/blob/master/bsip-0005.md

Hey,

Would you be able to include http://cryptofresh.com/a/ALTCAP.XDR in your supported MPA tokens please?

Thanks :)

IIRC it was a donation not an investment, guys. You got several sharedrops from your single donation.

AGS hasn't been a thing for years, you were sharedropped against for BTSX and that was the end of it.

General Discussion / Re: Witness pay framework

I think paying a fixed bitUSD rate would be more sensible than paying in terms of BTS, because the committee is having to reevaluate witness pay at increasing frequencies.

Something wrong with btsbots? I'm unable to get the bot running today, and I've got the following errors in the console:
unreachable code after return statement[Learn More]  ef1f8ace46776681012bcd9fdcbacba5f253ce2c.js:21:27050

Side note - the android application seems to freeze/stutter when I use the chat, specifically when my keyboard is opened to type with.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [Witness Proposal] roelandp

RE: http://roelandp.nl/bitshareswitnesslog/ (Great site BTW):
Would it be possible to indicate historical reliability of price feeds? Perhaps the avg variance and the avg time between price feed updates over x days?
Thanks :)

896
I think that any witness who isn't providing price feeds is failing at the witness role, even a small quantity of price feeds is a poor effort - we should be maximizing the amount of price feeds provided by witnesses.

897
Would you consider open-sourcing Cryptofresh if a worker proposal succeeded? Thanks

898
Not all assets are showing in the search, for example I cannot find the EBA 'OPEN.GRC'.

*BUMP*

I think this BSIP is needed more now than ever before, we've barely got competition against the currently elected witnesses & the 'campaigning' for these positions is almost non-existent. We're seeing witnesses in power who have zero price feeds and several who are entirely anonymous. I think that having to refresh your votes once every 6 months would be healthy for Bitshares. The solution to voter apathy isn't to ignore the problem and rely on proxies, but rather to encourage participation in the voting mechanism.

What should be the minimum requirements of such a block explorer?

Better charts, which show history of market cap and transaction volume per each assets and total for all assets. This deserves to be funded through worker or some other way. But who can do this?

Any of the committee members are trusted enough to be capable of handling a bounty, no?
We could create a worker proposal for x BTS which will be placed in escrow until the bounty task is complete.
