Can someone please advise why the following witnesses are still voted since they have provided wrong feeds and do not update regularly?

Poloniex is so beautiful to watch right now, I recommend it highly.  ;)

I would not recommend any centralized exchange at this point..I have a bad feeling that one of them is going to default soon...History has a tendency to repeat it self and when there is a huge pump in crypto, usually an exchange defaults (hacking, stolen funds, regulation or whatever reason)

I would only recommend bitshares DEX now..Keep it safe people...You may lose some opportunity due to lack of liquidity but at least you can sleep at night..

it happened to me sometimes. Try to "reload" or use another API.

@fav @iHashFury @sahkan Thank you guys! These api worked fine!

I am not a tech guy so I don't know much about these things but:

1) The light wallet GUI should show all these api available. I see around 6-7 ones that the last couple of days didn't work for me..

2) Maybe these apis should have a credit score next to them so we know which one best to chose

3) if apis that don't work anymore or do not work properly maybe should be removed

Anything else you may think of that will make the life of non tech people more easy...

The other day I was talking to a friend of mine who opened after 3 years of me talking to her about bitshares a bitshares account and she was complaining how slow this is and keeps loading all the time and didn't know if her transaction went though etc etc..Now I assume that she may was connected to an api that had issues at the time (I assume openledger one since she used the web wallet)..The first impression of bitshares was really bad for her and she decided never to use this again..We should not lose these people that many are no tech people at all coming from steemit..

Am i the only one experiencing this?

why everytime bts is doing fine then people start proposing to change something? bts is constantly increasing in value..apparently the market says clearly not to change anything..let it be..that is my opinion anyway..

General Discussion / Re: bitassets market cap in coinmarcketcap wrong?
« on: April 24, 2017, 07:18:12 pm »
well someone should notify coinmarketcap.com 's admins... Because showing bitusd $108k instead of $619k is a big difference and a misleading image about the DEX.

General Discussion / bitassets market cap in coinmarcketcap wrong?
« on: April 23, 2017, 05:56:19 pm »
I see in cryptofresh $616k bitusd and $602k bitcny and in coinmarketcap I see $107k and $585k respectively...

So which one is correct? This is a big discrepancy between cryptofresh and coinmarketcap especially in bitusd..If coinmarketcap is wrong someone should notify them..

Technical Support / Re: Is the referral link broken?
« on: April 20, 2017, 05:28:34 pm »
thank you guys...so what is the conclusion? how should I write exactly the ref link in my case to work? @ccedk ? any opinion on that? @xeroc and @svk and @fav can you guys run your tests with your ref links and see what works so we are all on the same page?

Technical Support / Is the referral link broken?
« on: April 19, 2017, 11:44:08 pm »
I know that a couple of people recently have registered via bitshares.gr and they should have been registered under my name and I see they haven't.
I have done a test myself as well and it seems that the referral doesn't work anymore?

Did I miss something?

@yvv what are you talking about mate? I think you confuse bitshares DEX purpose... Every bitasset created in bitshares is backed up by min 2.5 collateral value in bitshares. This is why in bitshares if you want to short sell you need to place at least 2.5 collateral value. This is why bitshares is safe and will avoid bankrupt. Because every bitasset created is backed up by 2.5 times collateral value!! This is why bitshares is superior to any bank and to any centralized exchange..Because you know that the " Bank" actually holds a lot of collateral for your "Money"...This is not a flaw in bitshares!! This is the superior market selling point of bitshares!!

Especially now that we have more than $1 mil in bitassets is bitusd and bitcny and we all know that for these bitassets the blockchain holds at least x2.5 collateral in bts value, THAT is the selling point of bitshares. I know that now I feel very comfortable keeping my bitusd in bitshares Dex. What we need to do now is just do the same for biteur, bitgbp, bitgold, bitsilver, bitbtc and reduce the premium paid for those bitassets as well and be close to peg as bitusd and bitcny are currently are...

Bitshares DEX is supposed to be your own bank. Not your own trading house! I want to feel safe keeping bitassets. I do not want bitshares blockchain to keep fractional reserves so you can margin trade with leverage!! The people who designed bts knew exactly what they were doing!!

Going back to margin trading of centralized exchanges that you mentioned...All exchanges that give leverage are supposed to keep balanced books, take opposite positions to hedge and keep only the spreads charged. Well I have news for you..Most of them don't do that! Not even very big regulated exchanges that offer leverage to their customers. This is why when the CHF - EUR peg broke a couple of very big exchanges with margin trading went bankrupt and others almost bankrupt..

I hope that you do know that most banks just keep only fractional reserves of peoples money right? Well I want bitshares to be exactly what it is..A bank that keeps more than 250% of collateral of peoples money!

As a final note, I hope you do not learn the hard way about margin trading in Poloniex as I did when I lost 80% of my bts holdings when I used them to margin trade (going long of course)..Poloniex and all these exchanges most probably manipulate prices in their favor. They see all the order books and they have really sophisticated bots to drive margin calls and screw you in their favor. So be careful when margin trading in Poloniex. They can screw you even if you are in the right direction of the trade..For example after too obvious pumps you go short and all of the sudden their servers don't work until prices recover and you do not get your entitled profit, or get margin called when you wanted to close your position etc etc..

what about the following:

bitasset holders should earn a daily interest depending on the peg? i.e. if bitusd / usd peg is 1.05 / 1 bitusd holders earn 5% if bitgold / gold is 1.2 / 1 bitgold holders earn 20%.

At the same time people who short bitassets earn the respective % in bts yield. Those who short bitgold putting bts collateral and assuming bitgold/gold to 20% away from peg should earn 20% bts daily yield in their bts collateral..

I haven't thought this through, just throwing an idea that just came out of my head before I forget it.
