General Discussion / Re: Bter now accepts BTSX deposits and trading
« on: July 23, 2014, 03:05:24 pm »
BTSX(BitshareX) withdrawal is enabled at Bter. It is limited to 5000BTSX per day for safe at the beginning and will be raised soon.

+5% Great, Thank you bter. But yes 5000BTSX is very low.

Has anyone started working on getting the other exchanges to list BTSX?  Do we have an announcement post at BTT?

With those volumes they will break their legs to list BTSX themselves, imho.

 +5%

I guess they may need some technical assistance though so should probably try make contact directly I guess with some of the main ones (Though BTCE doesn't seem to list any new things)

Do we have an announcement post at BTT?

I did start a thread about BitShares X myself, but it's literally just me talking to myself -  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=675455.0

I think they are discussing starting some proper BTT threads here  https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=6016.0

Edit: (In my defence this thread I started about PTS did generate more interest, with the help of Clout and others
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=664146.0  )

Yeah I really think this is a great idea.

I was a bit frustrated with marketing earlier today, given BTSX  trading so much below donating price,  but everything you want for marketing is actually there. I think Brian & others have done a great job. BitShares-X.info is looking ice cool. Great videos, Good Youtube & Facebook. Hugely popular forum. BitShares.org and DACsunlimited also good.

This is the only thing we missed, which is what everyone else does, is making the effort to create that presence on BTT. (& perhaps Reddit too.) So making the effort to specifically divert traffic there is important.

What do people think about doing a '(BTSX) BitShares X - Official Thread' as the main one started by one of the devs? (That seems to be the kind of format guys like NXT for example use.)

What other threads should there be?

Also do people think we should be on alternate cryptocurrencies  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0 or Alternate Cryptocurrencies sub section announcements https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

To me it makes sense to be on the first, but the announcement one does seem to move at a mile a minute, so much traffic there.

Got excited and went and bought some more.

Me too  :)

CNY volume outstrips BTC/BTSX volume 2/3 to 1, I don't think there is a single DAC/Coin where CNY/ volume even matches BTC/   1 to 1. On the one hand it is fantastic that we have appealed to the Chinese market much more than anything else out there but it also points at our failure to reach the English/Western market imo.

PTS /CNY has had bigger (sometimes 10x bigger) volume than PTS/BTC since at least March.

And believe it or not, not everything is marketing/PR. In very few occasion the rational for things is called market. I know it comes somewhat as a surprise to you Empirical1.  :)

I know it has bigger volume for a while. I have been bringing up that subject PTS/CNY for a while.

I know there are many investors who know very little about markets. One even thought the range for BTSX would be $2-15 million... I tried to buy from him at $21 million but he wouldn't sell :(

He sold at $31 mil remember  :)
He likes his profit from that deal  :)

Last night he bout at 0.0000147   :), small amount but still  :)

Yes that's true I forgot. He was a smart investor and did do a good deal actually  :)

We were tough in the interview, Daniel did very well and I'm quite pleased with the resulting work regardless of the process that brought us here.

Major kudos!

Ok listened to it. Thanks Adam & co! Yeah some challenging questions, but I thought it was fair. Fantastic, interesting interview covered a lot of ground. I thought Daniel was GREAT!    +5% +5% +5% +5%

Cool look forward to listening.

lol this is a terrible idea, any time you try to onboard people by "taking over" something that is theirs and not yours is probably not going to net you the result you want.

Also, it looks REALLY bad that you are the one suggesting this bad idea.

Seriously.

Poor choice of words perhaps.  Would you agree that our marketing presence on forums has been weak and making the effort to have a bigger presence on BTT through a few main threads would be positive though? (In the alternative cryptocurrency section obviously; we wouldn't be trying to discuss BitShares in any Bitcoin sections.)

in addition to BTSX being in the top 10 market cap, it also is currently #4 in volume with ~half a million in trading in the past day
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/volume/24-hour/#bitshares-x

Yes and the BTSX/CNY volume is even higher than LTC/CNY volume, 2nd in CNY only to Bitcoin itself today :)

Hi Jfox here im just our average investor and initial donator of ags , angelshares I sorta understand that the way a targeted drop is going to work is based on who was awarded ags and pts (protoshares) but what I don't get is what is it they are droping is it bitcoin, or protoshares and how is it that where i donated by bitcoin to angel funds from is going to accept protoshares if they come? If anyone knows what i mean by this please enlighten me (us) as i really don't want to miss out on the next dac that comes our way
thanx

jfox, angelshare holder/ average investor

They are dropping shares in new companies. (So new companies are being formed and holders of AGS are being awarded shares in them)

When each new company is formed they will usually release a wallet.

If you donated to AGS with Bitcoin then the wallet will have an option for you to import the private key of that Bitcoin address you donated from. The wallet will recognise it and your shares will be issued.

For example people who donated before 28/02 got shares in BitShares X - You can see it's CAP on coinmarketcap.com

If you donated before that date, you would be able to download the BitShares X wallet and import your Bitcoin private key and get BitShares X shares which you can sell or keep.

Not sure you are correct "The 'mainstream' audience they were targeting obviously haven't shown up at the exchanges. " someone has shown up, its been the third largest traded coin after bitcoin and litecoin so plenty of buyers.

Still no answer to my original question "whos holding the week hands". Why are so many holders selling? the buying doesn't surprise me, but, whos giving it to them at such a discount?

The volume is Chinese - 70% CNY/BTC and 85%+ on BTC38 which I think is mostly a Chinese userbase. (Even though they have an English site too.) So whoever has handled marketing for the Chinese audience has done a fantastic job. The Chinese may also just be smarter.

I believe most of our marketing material  has been directed at an English speaking audience and that is where we seem to have failed. (Our BTC/BTSX volume is not even in the top 10.)

Edit: I stand corrected there is one - PTS - $35 000 24 hr CNY volume and $3600 BTC volume. 10-1 difference.  :-\

At least the product can sell itself now to the Western audiences. Once they get it, and the BTC volume gets in line with the rest of the market vs. CNY, the value of this will be massive & that could all happen very quickly imo. I still can't open it in Windows myself, but I'm terrible with computers.

+5% I would pimp the S*** out this wallet if I could open & use it.

Win 7 64 bit for me.
If you have windows7 (32,64) Please make sure you uninstall any virtual or removable USB flash drives on your machine.
If you use flash drives Win7 keeps them installed when you remove the flash drive. Just uninstall them(it).
then run exe

Thanks for the help raleit2014.

I don't think I have any USB flash drives installed. My keyboard is connected via wireless USB. Which I assume is fine.

Windows says the problem event name is 'BEX' & gives me some other info I can post if that helps.
