Title: Something wrong with AngelShares PTS donation blocks
Post by: aasl on December 30, 2013, 02:41:49 pm
Hi,

Earlier today there was only ~700 PTS sent to AngelShares PTS address PaNGELmZgzRQCKeEKM6ifgTqNkC4ceiAWw (link: https://coinplorer.com/PTS/Addresses/PaNGELmZgzRQCKeEKM6ifgTqNkC4ceiAWw). But just now when I checked, it boosts to >1400!!!

And there are many donors have their donations DOUBLED! e.g. the first donor who contribute 500PTS with address PpsLSKnnANVrvCcRujjgSqTyN5GHFYghcN now has 500PTS x2 with exactly the same timestamp! What had happened? Why some users have their contributions doubled, some are not? Please provide explanation and proof  to us, so that we can continue trusting angelshares.

Look forward to any reply!

Thank you for your reply. Hopefully we will not use the buggy website to calculate the shares~

there the donation comes up as 1BTC where in fact i send through 1.8btc all up once first .2 then 1.6 can you confirm this on the ledger? I can only see 1btc my btc address is 16WMNUQp285cJoZGYiRu9EbFrJntcmJkUU where the donation came from

Hi there

Sorry about the "doubled" transactions, there is a bug in the database I use (if interrested, look at https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-5931 (https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-5931)); I made a fix for this.

Coinplorer is correct here, just have a look to the transaction ("see trx" link): https://coinplorer.com/PTS/Transactions/efae002a09aeac6883f3ff516e5af2f528b4a2b37333774102b52bbc8e7ea66e (https://coinplorer.com/PTS/Transactions/efae002a09aeac6883f3ff516e5af2f528b4a2b37333774102b52bbc8e7ea66e)
Your wallet created a new address for the change, to 79.45 effectively went out of your address Pmo1PVn3iqHBKP8bdJR9kAdsdrRkWBEsW7, but you got 29.45 PTS back to another address (possibly hidden by your wallet). I hate those hidden things too...

Best wishes for 2014.

I have the same thing happen to me.  I send using a certain wallet, and now I find it was using a public address I have no idea I have.  I can't associate that address with my wallet.  Do you think I would still get my ags?

You wallet (if you are using ProtoShares-Qt or Bitcoin-Qt) has hidden addresses from change that you do not see, but you still control.

really how do i know what these addresses are and how does that explain that when i send 50 pts shares 79.8 show up in angelshares. why do they not go back to the address where they came from?

Bitcoin works the same way.
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Change

You can see all your addresses (including change addresses) by using "listaddressgroupings" in the debug console.
