Martin, I'm a big fan of your videos. Yet I am a lot different. You might have a hard time being voted in. Although talking to people on the street might be your thing, others will look at this as business and may come to the conclusion that it is not an effective way to market given the cost.
However, you have value in your videos. You just have to be willing to listen to people and take their criticisms and I think that maybe you can make some interesting videos. The idea is to make them viral in some regard. There thousands upon thousands of youtube videos out there with people talking into the camera. There is nothing wrong with that but you really have to do a lot to differentiate yourself. Then you have to get traction through social media etc. It isn't easy. I'll definitely vote for yourself but my stake is nothing special. Good luck and always have a plan on how to maximize your value.
You need to be a lot more convincing of what value you are adding to the bitshares project in order to get my vote.

If he would asking to get elected with a 5% payrate, with the same proposal? Would you vote for him?

Martin has enthusiasm and a kind heart. He would make an excellent employee of a more experienced delegate (perhaps in the beginning doing such things as handing out fliers at meetups/conventions, taking videos at same, etc.) while he acquires the skills to do delegate level work on his own.
Since there are to be only 101 delegates, it will soon be a waste of opportunity to have someone running a 5% delegate. So no, I would not vote for that (my voting power is very far from being outcome determinative, however, - so he can certainally campaign for others' votes and possibly win). In my opinion, delegate positions should all soon go to persons confident they can productively utilize a 100% pay rate and, as the market value goes up, be confident that they can hire others in order to produce even more value adding work.
It is my opinion that his proposal does not demonstrate the skills and experience to add more value than others to the bitshares ecosystem in a free competition vying for these soon to be coveted positions.
But he would make an excellent employee for undertaking certain projects for other delegates or stakeholders as he works on acquiring more skills and confidence. I would hire him on an occasional basis to go to and hand out fliers at meetups/conventions or at internet cafes, universities, etc. Handing out fliers to street people is not productive to bitshares (again, in my opinion). However laudable a street ministry may be, it should be funded by his own earned resources or solicited donations and not by taxation on the bitshares stakeholders.

Ah .... no , there will be plenty of 3% and 5% delegates , because 101 of 100% delegates will be a no go for the market , and the market will reduce the actual value of the delegate pay , so every delegates earns less , including the developers .
1-2% dilution rate , that's the market's current limit , judging by the situation and funding and acceptance .
This rate is gonna change , if BTS * 10 and to the moon , we may need all 100% delegates , of course . But until then , 1-2% is the hard line that the market won't be happy to accept .
By the way , delegate is not an steady job , there will not be a "waste opportunity" because no one owns an iron bowl here . So if there are real talent come in , competition alone should push out those who are not as talent as them . There are no safe spot here .
Sooner or later , delegates will be filled by those owns a team to perform multiple function at once , if the income is good enough and the competition from all over the world raises .

I don't think we disagree on anything. I have always stated to potential delegates that I would withdraw my vote if they don't perform (no iron rice bowls).
Yes, there will be 3% and 5% delegates until qualified candidates come along that add more value to the bitshares network than they consume at the higher payrates. I agree with you. I just hope it is sooner rather than later. And I think it will be. The market will not punish but rather reward a full 101 100% delegates if they are all adding more value then they consume (in that case bitshares will be in a rapid growth phase).
Martin was not proposing a 3% payrate for himself to run a bare bones tech delegate (he even says himself that he does not as yet have the chops for that). And he certainly wasn't campaigning to run a 5% paymaster delegate where he does the technical and pays out the remaining funds to a value adding partner. Again, he has yet to acquire the necessary skills.
So where do we disagree?
I have no skills to answer to posts that are complex and am very insecure. I discussed with liondani what would be a good payrate and we both didn*t know, and how the community would react. But the plan is to see the reaction and then react accordingly. I told many people about BTS, from all ages and countries. This is valueable but I can imagine not as much as mass marketing through the Internet which was never my plan. I only made the videos to gain trust in order to work with the charity delegates. Now I have to stay optimistic because I made this decission even I didn*t ask anyone to help me with the delegate, it was offered to me by liondani. I am thankful for that because I wanted to do this since the dry-runs anyway.
I share the costs with liondani, although I couldn*t send anything because my hardware is not strong enough.
That DPOS is not for charity, we discussed it, but I saw that xeroc and liondani do it and didn*t think it would be a problem, if I keep showing that I really help people who have no other help and are lost. Almost as me. I have no apartment since 4 months and no privacy. Only yesterday I was alone in the room and used the time to call the psy-helpline after I realized again how weak I am in communicating and forum discussion. I suffer because no one gives me help to rent a room. That*s why I went to the welfare office and what I experienced there was total crap. I give all my energy to abolish this shit even it will take some time, but we will get there.
Now I will go out and just continue with the flyers. Thank you for your support and honest replies _everyone_!

I only have 5 cards left but am unsure about a shipping address. The next cards should contain my ref link or a link to my google site.
And also maybe metaexchange, beyond bitcoin, or bytemasters blog.
I hitchhiked with a taxi driver today. He likes UIAs. The last days I was doing my normal program where I handed out the cards and explained everything.
- Met the head of Technologia
Incognita, one of the hackspaces in Amsterdam, in the metro through my little show. Got invited there and was introduced to a person who now connects me to “all BTC and crypocurrency“ people.
It was very nice there and I thank everyone for the hospitality, cigs, joints and left-over food. A great place. Opens for visitors every Wednesday:

Today solid three hours. Plan to go to the bitcoinmeetup on the 30th here in Amsterdam.
OKToday solid three hours. Plan to go to the bitcoinmeetup on the 30th here in Amsterdam.
Awesome.. tell us more about the conversations you had.. what kind of interest people showed.. what they thought about it.
It is raining for the next few days in Amsterdam. Because I do not get enough votes I cannot spend anything for marketing.
I show the people who smoke with me in the coffeeshop the client through the connection user puppies provides for me.
I would like that the people who believe in my project donate some money for:
- Passport ~ 120 Euro
- Flight to Cambodia ~ 600 Euro
- Rent for the house ~ 300 Euro per month plus 300 Euro for deposit
- 30 Euro for YouTube advertisement per month
- 100 for drinks
- 200 for a computer
I will quickly set up a camping with discounts for smartcoin users.
I will call it BitShares camp-o-space, suggestions welcome, and then advertise locally and on YouTube. Once the shareholders like it, and my delegate gets an income, I can start to employ one or two people and then see what I can do next to propell BitShares to Alpha Centauri!

I have no idea how many people will support me. Of course I will keep you updated about everything.
I have to say that I got reported to the police a month ago and might have to pay a fine first before I am allowed to get a passport.
It was a very hot, church day, thousands of tourists and I was handing out flyers for us. I said to a couple that I think that they are “disgusting“, after they told me in a very harsh way that I should leave them alone. I am sorry that I said it. The man, a police man, told me that the judge has to decide if “disgusting“ is insult or not. Statists.. ;)
Anyhow, it could be that I have to pay a fine. If you would support me here too, I would be so thankful.
I guess it*s max. 800 Euro.
I once was in Cambodia for a year and helped several guesthouses with marketing, wifi, and built good relationships. This will make it easy to start accepting New Good Money from the Internet.
Here is the video I made for my DollarSpots Camping I had a few years ago. One month YouTube ads brought 2000 views (one 1 dollar per day)

I also want to give the donators shares in the business. I think that a User issued Asset would be good.
Will try to make one now
Edit: Ouch its 5000 BTS and I only can access 2000 :(
Went to http://bitcoinmeetup.nl

I met friendly likeminded people who want to bring the blockchain further. Critical voices about bts:
They are only IOUs and that this is not good. Or not as good as bitcoin which isnt IOU.
If anyone would like to say something about that, please do, I dont know enough about it.
There was interest by a publisher, a freelance banker, to whom I brought the sensi, ahm the knowledge.
Other nice people like Jop from blocktrail.com who do multisig for bitcoin, the good food and the friendly women..
:-D

User issued assets are an iou from an individual.
Market pegged assets are an iou from the entire network. They are a promise from the network to pay 1 underlying units worth of bts at a future date. They are trustless just like bitcoin.
12 hours today. Mixed infotainment in Amstedam. Guess what, I met someone who KNEW BitShares.awesome news man. Keep up the good work.
A friendly couple and he worked for Google!
We are in contact and I hope that we can become a team. Marketing and PR experts. Things fall in place for me atm.

Martin, I'm not sure this is what you want to hear... but relying on delegate pay is not going to help very much. Considering you will only be making around $5 a day at current market cap with a 38% delegate, you would probably be much better off working at a regular job and buying BTS with your spare cash. Maybe you can find a job and make $10 an hour... maybe more maybe less. If you still feel compelled to spread the bitshares word, spend an extra 5 dollars a day on fliers and hand them out.+5% I agree that that would be a healthy decision
I know you probably don't want to work for "the man" but it's probably the most efficient thing to do right now. Heck, you might even pick up a few tips and tricks on how to market more successfully and you may meet people you wouldn't have the chance to as a street performer.
martin, maybe if want to work in amsterdam i can ask my partner if u could work in our burrito store ... i can't promise as me friend/partner is in charge of this store... but maybe it would be worth a try .. let me think more about…I am very thankful for that. I worked a year at Video Leuze in Ludwigsburg. From opening the shop, to hovering, cleaning, counting cash and closing - all alone in the shop.
I just introduced to a big group from Ireland
I have the feeling that the people would appreciate a lower payrate.
It's a shame because we could really help some people now and produce videos but what to do.
I just want to see if there is any reaction.
What should the referral system change?
OK, I will stop all activity until 13th.What should the referral system change?
I mean you can use the referral system to earn money instead a worker delegate.... Worker delegates are more for coders/programmers,designers,developers etc. and not for marketers...
For your style(bitshares marketing) it's obvious you must use the referral system and that's it.
take a look here. It will be your greatest opportunity to make what you already do but NOT FOR FREE ....
