В линуксе я полный ноль)

Если Вы с линуксом не очень дружите, то это будет практически невозможно.  :(
Думаю через час, максимум 2 (а то и раньше) будет готова версия Alpha майнера, и вы сможете спокойно майнить на ней, без лишнего стресса от знакомства с линуксом. Тем более что она быстрее всех остальных майнеров. Следите за новостями тут: http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=236.0

Если при запуске кошелька у Вас возникла проблема с синхронизацией цепочки блоков сети ProtoShares, добавьте узел cryptoseed.cloudapp.net в параметры запуска клиента, например:

protoshares-qt.exe -addnode=cryptoseed.cloudapp.net
Или укажите это узел в файл protoshares.conf, например:

addnode=cryptoseed.cloudapp.net
Или введите эту команду в консоли (Помощь -> Окно отладки -> Консоль):

addnode cryptoseed.cloudapp.net add
Для тех, кто находится за брандмауэром (firewall) который блокирует обращение по портам отличным от 80 (http):

ProtoShares это своего рода первый этап эмиссии BitShares, все монеты которые были добыты в цепочке блоков ProtoShares на момент запуска BitShares будут включены в genesis block BitShares, т.е. все у кого были ProtoShares получат такое же количество BitShares. Естественно, даже после этого ProtoShares никуда не денутся и продолжат жить «своей жизнью».

Сегодня сложность сети увеличилась в 8 раз, что сделало добычу в соло практически невозможной для большинства майнеров, но для добычи можно использовать пулы. На сегодняшний день их четыре, ниже они отсортированы по популярности:

Just configure Tunnel rule where define the pool IP and point all your miners to proxy IP, if something will happened with one pool IP you can easily switch to another.
It's will help until you will use same software for mining.
Currently all pools use different software, probably you can use same software for xolokram and PTSPool, but I'm not sure.

Edit: Maybe you can also run different pool miners just point it to tunnel which has wrong external IP and miners will run and try to continuesly reconnects, but when you decide to run them, just point tunnel to correct IP and they start working  :)
