I was chatting with their support just now asking why are the vested BTS not being credited. They seem to believe that if they claim it before 2 years they will lose an amount proportional to how early they are claiming. While I am sure that is not the case I am unable to find the documentation. Does anyone have a link handy?
The BTER support needs to be pestered to get things done; I bugged them regularly a few weeks back when withdrawals were stopped before they finally got their devs on it :D
EDIT:
https://github.com/xeroc/bitshares/blob/master/docs/claiming-vested-balances.md
To claim what has vested so far:
Conclusive enough to me but they would need more for convincing.
EDIT2:
You can also try "wallet_account_vesting_balances" for details on how much you have claimed so far and how much is left.
That should do it.
Found toast's response. Lets see if I can bug them enough to make them do it. Locking the topic.
I would wait for 2 -3 days since kind of afraid tomorrow's huge amounts of bts released on a single day......
What are you talking about?
Vested balance.
Oh right. Do you think we could see a dump tomorrow?
Well let's see...I believe the vesting period began on 11/5/14, right? Two and a half months. And the vesting is for a period of 2 years...which means approx. 52,083,333 of the 500,000,000 new BTS will be unlocked at once. I can't imagine everyone is going to claim all at once, and I'm sure plenty of people will want to hold it...
But yea, there may be a small dump going on.
Maybe we should wait a year for BTS to get solid footing before unlocking the balances? :P
Why would any of the 52 mm be dumped? I thought it was a penalty, where if you transfer, you lose the a certain percentage.

No penalty.

I was almost out of here, but I had a chat with the Bter support on QQ and they are still confused so wanted to post this.
"The dev may send us an emai about it, or give us a link to the forum for the official announcement" - Bter Support
So if anyone from CNX can get in touch with them, or post somewhere on the forum which I can show them that will be great.
Its a separate discussion, but it might be a good idea to release all the vested balances on 2.0 launch. It will give everyone a chance of a fresh start (all those who doesn't want to rely on exchanges anymore), and the inflation should get absorbed by the pump following the new release hype.
In addition, I pitched them NOTES and DVS and they are considering adding it now. If a few of you can request that then it will make the case stronger.
Disclaimer: I don't have any vested BTS on Bter, but I do have NOTES and DVS waiting to be redeemed.

Thanks sumantso for your efforts, I had a good chunk on BTER back then so that I should get vesting shares; if you get them to release some of the vested shares that would be great.
-
To check your original vesting balances in the console the command now is:
wallet_account_vesting_balances <account>
-
There is no penalty for claiming vesting BTS early.

To check your original vesting balances in the console the command now is:
wallet_account_vesting_balances <account>
Also works with "vesting" alias:
vesting <account_name>

Here is a new conspiracy theory for you: maybe bter has been cashing everyone's vested BTS balances from all that PTS all along, and then dumping it at btc38 to try to recover the money they lost.

Sounds entirely plausible.

@sumantso thanks you for efforts +5% I like idea of starting 2.0 without vesting but it's changing the rules again and I don't think community will like it.

Interesting. Anyone has any idea on how to check this? Maybe just checking vested balances associated with BTS/PTS deposit addresses?

if we know the bter addresses we should be able to check if the funds have been withdrawn.
Did anyone ever check the cryptsy addresses? I wonder of those pts have ever been claimed.

For the record, sumantso was initially discussing
Dec.14,2014BTS_S2
as shown in BTER balance, and reflects the number of bitshares in your BTER account the day of the merger snapshot. BTER did this because they stated that they would honor the snapshot, and therefore provide users with the vested shares that correspond to the Dec.14,2014BTS_S2 balance.
To date, BTER has not released any of the vested shares that correspond to the Dec.14,2014BTS_S2 balance.

There's been so many share drops that I've lost track. In bter, is the Play_BTS_S1 still relevant? It's listed on top of the BTS_S2.

I know it is hard to remember because it has been awhile. I have close to the same number for both, so they must have happened almost at the same time. They represent the PLAY shares we are supposed to get from BTER whenever that happens. based on whatever the conversion of BTS to PLAY was - the Play_BTS_S1 is the number of BTS you had in your account on the day of the snapshot.

Isn't the Dec. 14,2014BTS_S2 the "Sparkles" snapshot?
Isn't Sparkles dead?

Removing vesting would just cause a couple hundred million of the remaining vesting BTS to be insta-dumped, probably taking the price so low that 90% of those that remain would give up. Not a good idea I think.

You are probably right, sorry for the misinformation.
