BitShares PTS / Re: PTS upgrade poll
« on: August 02, 2014, 07:18:54 pm »
On the remaining supply question, there are basically 3 positions:

1) Cut the supply at current values.
2) Use remaining supply to pay delegates // developers // for promotion.
3) Use remaining supply to keep virtual mining subsidized.

The most difficult option, but most according to original contract is 3.
The easiest and simplest option is 1, simply stopping the inflation.
The best long term for the PTS DPOS chain itself is probably 2.

PS I just came up with the subsidized mining pool idea and was a little overexcited (read: biased) by it.
Showing the miners finally who knows economy, get promotion via that camp, etc.  :D

Option 2 sounds most logical.

Pools are quickly dropping support for PTS so something needs to be done or well end up in BTC world with a pool having >51%.  Miner development has come to a standstill also.

General Discussion / Re: No DPOS upgrade for Bitshares PTS???

Another issue is pool and miner support.  www.beeeeer.org is taking it's pts pool offline August 7th.

While we do not need to spam the bitcointalk board, there should be an official moderated thread.  They move fast in the alt section so a nice overview with graphics & video's should get people talking.

Now with the launch a small update would also be nice to see what is being worked on next.  Updated wallet?  Bug fixes?  New dry run to test market functionality?

General Discussion / Re: BTSX deposits opened on btc38

Could use some attention over on bitcointalk.org...  Seems like a lot of them have no idea what BTSX is!

We will have a difficulty patch before next retarget, then maybe upgrade to DPOS but later

Any estimate on the next re-target?

I just received some LTB coins from Adam. Even the amount is small I intend to use them in LTB for tipping others and I intend to visit his webpage more often...I never followed LTB for any news or updates regarding crypto. This is about to change for me just because of this small donation.

The point I want to make is that I think we should switch to DPOS and the remaining PTS to be donated. Donate them to anyone who installs Kehotee, to anyone who installs BTS X platform, to anyone who refers someone to Bitshares projects, to anyone who likes the facebook page, to anyone who makes a positive comment about bitshares to reddit, bitcoin talk etc, air drop them to other target communities (maybe NXT,PPC,XCP,Ripple, mastercoin, ethereum).

Can we do that?

Agreed.

Another PTS pool, Beeeeer.org, is going offline August 8th thus would be beneficial to make this switch soon.

BitShares PTS / PTS Update?

Mining pools and power are fading any plans to switch PTS over to DPOS?

Thank you for the pool and PTS support, its been great!

Now what to mine?!

Keyhotee / Heartbleed SSL
« on: April 09, 2014, 07:03:17 pm »
Using the example in the Keyhotee introduction video such as shopping at amazon, would Keyhotee have the same heartbleed vulnerability?

431
Finally, now we just need more miners on pools besides ypool to spread out the hash.  1GH could use some support!

432
BitKey makes sense because Keyhotee goes beyond just email.

433
Reorder

Any chance for a faster miner or adding support for other miners?

Thanks for your support

BitShares PTS / Re: fast AMD OpenCL PTS miner released

Any chance to support http://pts.1gh.com/ pool?

Question.... I've been running on ypool, avg about 4500c/min. And getting 1 PTS every 30hrs or so.
Is the other pools a better option, should I switch? Would appreciate any comments! Thanks!

YPool will have more frequent payouts since it is finding more blocks.  If we however find a block on this pool we all earn more per block since the hash is much lower.
