Technical Support / Re: How do you backup a wallet?
« on: August 23, 2014, 03:30:23 pm »
How do I know what version I have?

I think I got my wallet back on 8/17 or 8/18 from the main website.

I did not have any PTS. I am a new BTSX investor.

I appreciate all your help.

I am hoping to get this wallet issue resolved this weekend.

Technical Support / How do you backup a wallet? (resolved)

I have a windows 8 machine. I need to backup my wallet. Could someone please tell me how?

I know this is rudimentary stuff, but there are a lot of folks like me who want to invest in crypto, but are totally lost.

My wallet won't sync anymore so before I do anything I need to back it up.

Thanks

Looks like you will have to wait until the network is back up and then someone here can send you some coin. Just hang on.

General Discussion / Re: Should we reconsider using the word "Bank"?
« on: August 21, 2014, 03:13:24 am »
If you read back, most posters have said 'no bank'. We need to get away form that for regulatory reasons.

I think what BTSX really does is bypass the bank.

Yes, "bank" invites aggression from policy makers ...

... stealth is key ...

... the fact that 2.0 crypto is increasingly becoming anonymous/encrypted ...

... this will put pressure on regulators to act .... and choke off places like coinbase ....

A "precious center" .....

If the thing makes money it won't matter what you call it.

A "precision vault"

An "EE vault" (economic energy)

A "Living money vault"

Thanks onceuponatime ......

.... I don't get this ..... is this how the software forges people together .....?

.... why are they doing it this way?

M problem got fixed. I sent Bter a ticket.

They responded and said all they want on the address line is your registration name.

Once I did that it worked.

What are the plans for making this situation as simple as possible? This is way, way too complex?

This is really the exchange not serving their customers.   That said free registration for everyone with an email account will be made available soon.

I thank you for the .2 coin.

I was able to register last night; however, Bter will still not allow me to transfer my coin.

I may have to call them at this point.

I have the same problem.  I registered my account a few hours ago but I can't withdraw bitshares from BTER.  I get the error that the account isn't registered or the memo is too long.  I'm not using a memo.

General Discussion / Re: General Name for BitSharesX

I think you guys missed the point of this thread.

OP is asking "what do we call the special prediction market / polymorphic digital asset" concept. It's not a traditional prediction market, it's not a "tomorrow market", and "BitSharesX" is the product name.

What is the mechanism called?

Some kind of digital vortex scaling wrap .... it wraps around all legacy systems and funnels capital out of  paper debt based fiat financialization and into a sustain digital asset class that stores economic energy ...

"Digital EE scaling"

I reported on myself.

I saw that "Report to moderator" in the upper right and thought I was to report to the moderator.

My bad, so for high jacking this thread.

Technical Support / Re: Whats a good link for Keyhotee?
« on: August 19, 2014, 05:44:34 pm »
Thanks, I was seeing a lot of discussion and video, but no links.

Things like Keyhotee help a guy like me who is Linux challenged.

Really excited about crypto and Bitshares .... Bitshares seems to play well with Microsoft. That was a huge barrier with Bitcoin.

Web based wallets (no cold storage) is an issue, I guess.

I really wanted hard storage. (If you don't hold it you don't won crowd).

"The "tragic force" within the universe does not go unheeded by the sentient."

...how's that? .... for an explanation?

If I have offended someone, I apologize.

Perhaps cognitive dissonance or a misunderstanding. Sounds like someone was alarmed by my writing.
