General Discussion / Re: NXT is better than BitShares?
« on: March 30, 2015, 11:13:35 pm »
I spent a decent amount of time checking out NXT but I just wasn't "feeling it" in the same way as Bitshares. Also their distribution/fundraiser wasn't as fair as Bitshares. They have a lot more boxes ticked but the whole thing feels clunky and rushed.

blockchain_list_market_transactions 2158767 lists 4 transactions related to your BID, not just two:

.00000001 BTC ->      .00070 BTS
.00099999 BTC ->    37.79962 BTS
.04842971 BTC ->  1830.64306 BTS
.38893833 BTC -> 14701.86912 BTS
==========================
.43836804 BTC -> 16570.31250 BTS

If you issue the command wallet_account_transaction_history in the console, do you see these 4 or only the 2 that are also in the GUI?

I'm only seeing the two transactions:

General Discussion / Re: DAOs future
« on: March 30, 2015, 08:54:11 pm »
Read the report it is full oft bitshares

I saw that but " finds that Ethereum and MaidSafe are the most promising DAOs". For a non-technical person, do you know what, if any, competative advantage Ethereum or MaidSafe have over BitShares? I remember smart contracts was Ethereums thing but i'm not sure about MaidSafe.

Thanks

Ethereum is very ambitious, if it pulls off what it proposes it will be huge.
Maidsafe has been in development for almost a decade, if they manage to hit beta this year it'll also be huge.
All of these projects have a place :)

General Discussion / Re: Reworking the wallet trading interface
« on: March 30, 2015, 08:34:40 pm »
Thanks for the input Xeldal. I've been thinking of replacing the price history chart with this: http://techanjs.org/

I guess that's more like what you'd want? I'm not really a trader, what kind of indicators would you like to see added? MACD? Moving averages? Interactive trendlines? Percentage axis?

Here's an example of what that library can do:

Oh yes yes please that chart is sooo much nicer than the current one :)
Candles are nice but I like the ability to turn them off too.

Technical Support / Bug - BitBTC:BTS trade missing funds!
« on: March 30, 2015, 08:16:49 pm »
I just put up a sell order of 0.43836804 BitBTC with an ask of:
"buy BTS @ 0.000026455026 BTC / BTS 0.43836804 BTC 03/30/2015 8:54 PM"

This is:
0.43836804/0.000026455026 == 16570.312197

Transaction #0e0d46fc
Block #2158766 , Transaction #0 , Next #0
TimeStamp: 03/30/2015 8:54 PM

My BitBTC Sell Orders are empty and my BitBTC balance is zero yet I only received 14739.66874.

14739.66874 / 0.43836804 = 33623.958398.

Where are the missing 1830.64 BTS?

I have restarted the client and refreshed etc. Any commands I can use in console? Don't really want to have to rescan entire blockchain if I can help it.

EDIT: I rescanned blockchain and the BTS is still missing.

Bitshares are in the slides deck at least under the "to the moon" 5 star category

I'll buy a new puter once the BTS price hits 3 cents.
Oh yeah, and more flowers for my incredibly patient wifey. :)

Sounds like you've gone in quite deep... Bitshares is promising but it's never a guaranteed thing.

84
It's been a while I've seen bullish/pumping posts around here, we've been in a down trend for what,  6 months now? Since the merger announcement I guess. We were at around 0.03$/BTS before the downtrend started, now at around 0.0065$/BTS. Almost an 80% decline in value since then. Maybe it was overpriced in October, but it's definitely underpriced right now.

It's not underpriced. It's where it belongs right now.

Until it's easier to use the internal exchange, it's going to stay like this. No one is using the internal exchange. You're not using the internal exchange to exchange BitUSD:BitBTC and neither is anyone so that is why the price is where it is.

Moonstone.io could help.

I've started trading on it a lot. The low liquidity is annoying because sometime it takes hours/days for my positions to get filled but when more people come to the light it'll only improve. I don't use any altcoin exchanges now, I just use metaexchange or block trades to transfer in.

85
I would guess one of the reasons is to be able to avoid paying the transaction fees that go along with updating price feeds.

Yeah true, we should implement fee waiver for the price feed updates for top 101 delegates

86
Let me ask you this. Has anyone tested doing 10M user accounts and 100M trades in DevShares? If not, why not?

What is the hard limit Bitshares can handle before it all falls apart?

How can you say this is the best investment without knowing the real limits of what you are investing in?!

I'd also like to know this. We should be triggering black swan events in devshares too to see how they're handled (seeing as that event could happen to any bts backed security in either direction). Yes I agree Bitshares is incredibly undervalued right now and it has huge potential but let's not rush to open the flood gates when there's work to be done or it will be short lived.

Saturday 28.03.2015 Update

Dite, one of our team members is with the Music/Peertracks team at the Texas Bitcoin Conference.

You can now watch the initial UI/UX of the Moonstone wallet on YouTube! This is an earlier version which we deemed stable for presentation purposes. The market interface will be presented in a more lengthy video in 1-2 weeks as it requires some more polishing.

Very nice! :)

General Discussion / Internal Exchange Automated Features
« on: March 28, 2015, 03:59:00 pm »
Are there plans in progress to incorporate automated functions into the Bitshares wallet? E.g. It would be great to be able to set a stop loss, auto buy at x etc etc. At the moment this is only doable through writing my own scripts and RPCing.

I guess the challenge with this is that the wallet would need to always be running. Perhaps this should be a feature for the web wallet? The hosted server could execute the requests or at least issue alerts to the user if they don't want to trust them signing keys on their behalf. Has there been any discussion into this already?

89
I do think that assets like Notes are what will bring people to the decentralised exchange as it is the only place they'll be able to trade them. When the internal exchange feels as smooth as external ones, it could really blow up and I'm super excited about that!

90
Are there any UI prototypes/demos available of moonstone? Would be great to see some samples of the dev progress so far!
