General Discussion / Re: Management/Implementation Delegate Proposal
« on: February 08, 2015, 12:03:23 am »
I propose anyone that wants to be a delegate who backs Method or Rgcrypto with there funding (meaning they dont take a salary initially) is allowed to be a delegate.

If the market cap of bitshares becomes 250 million they can all take small salaries (10% which would be like $1300 US a month)

Method is good but rgcrypto is more effective and spending more time on it.

If you want to fund someone with a delegate basically you backing someone with your delegate funding, go with rgcrpyto.

Im all for having like 50 paid delegates to make the ecosystem.

Method will come back as long as we (bitshares) doesnt get shot down by a black swan or even a known unknown.

Even 3% delegates have to work to keep there delegate up, and updated.

:D now I get your question.
Well, I think we should stick to DPOS since the stakeholders have the power in their hand. If they vote against you, you are gonna be kicked out no matter how much work you are doing.

Ok I understand the foundational operating system is DPOS.

General Discussion / Do we still consider ourselves DPOS rather than DPOW?

Isnt it Delegated Proof of Work now and eventually it will go to DPOS once it caps out?

Has this already been discussed?  If so, dont mind me.

To understand the idea of how big this could become here is a blurb out of this article http://thevalueswan.com/cryptohedge-io-cfsassets-cfsgold-market-making-bots-20-to-50-yearly-return-maybe-black-swan-proof-maybe/

How good can these bot/arbitrage mechanisms be in terms of profitability?  Well basically the best market making or arbitrage firm in the world which uses the power of mathematics and physics is https://www.rentec.com/Home.action?index=true .  The guy that started it James Simon is worth $14 billion dollars and is known as the “Quant King,” he really is.  wWith returns after commissions over 35% – 40% a year meaning hes making 45% – 55% a year.  It is true he is not just an arbitrager and that he uses the power of his mathematics University Ph.D teaching degree as well as trend following, special situations, and most likely high frequency trading (he is most likely doing this  in his alphabet soup of technique.)

Personally I believe he has nothing he can do till the proper funnel (online wallet, light wallet) comes online and he will be better at converting the traffic from his building up of delegate funds.

This was not needed but Fuzzy is our community evangelist.

Nice initiative Rune,  ill write something up about what your doing on www.thevalueswan.com

Im looking through the list here http://bitsharesblocks.com/assets/user and it says we have 1 200k asset (probably an inflated price but still).  There should be a website that allows a UIA to publish data about what there investment plans are with there asset and allows people to compete, much like a Facebook type website - Interactive Website.

Who is up for this?  I got to much on my plate right now to do it.

Tell them they can build things that will make them money.  Have them partner up with the developers + a businessman and get stuff done.

There is going to be significant room for User Issued Assets (UIAs), getting pegs for other assets, and development of DACs or the platform.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Update from 100% delegate marketing.methodx?
« on: January 29, 2015, 09:59:04 pm »
Hes useful And the marketing will get started now.  The marketing budget is kinda low but as he said his tor ad campaign is 2 cents per targetted click which is outrageously cheap

Give him some time market cap should begin to turn around we just need to create hype such as bitCocaCola

thia is amazingly awesome, the beginnings of a bitshares investment bank.

I guess bitsharesblocks is showing the wrong data?

No, but it's using blockchain_market_price_history to calculate 24hr volume weigthed average prices and that command is giving strange and sometimes incorrect results. abit has made a fix for it that I'll try to integrate later today or tomorrow.

ok
