This might be a particular crash that we've been seeing reports of for a while. I've put in a workaround that will be in the next version 0.6.0.
If you want to try right now, you can try going into your BitShares data-directory and deleting ONLY the folder "peers.leveldb". If you do that, let us know if it fixes the problem.

I don't know how this is occurring or why you don't get a bigger error message with the full error details, and I have not been able to reproduce this.
I think you will have to wait and see if this still happens in the next release 0.6.0, and if so--we will track down the full details of the error and what could be causing it.

This error is shown when LevelDB throws an error saying the database is locked by another process. The LOCK files in the _db folders do not appear to get deleted by LevelDB under any circumstances (which is weird) and deleting them has no apparent effect.

In practice, the GUI will *only* show this error if the CLI client is running with the data dir the GUI intends to use; when another instance of the GUI is running, it's smart enough to just bring up the old instance of the GUI rather than trying to start a second one and running into this issue.

Are you sure you don't have a CLI client running somewhere?

The task for the server is to build transactions based on what the client asked to do and relay them to the network after the client signs it.任务是由比特股网络来处理的，客户端只是签署。

I was just going to create a thread with the same title, but since hpenvy was unsurprisingly pondering this question in November, let's do the 'ol thread bump.   

I have been working on my elevator / cafe / cocktail hour pitch for a while.. I seem to be getting across some good information but I want to sharpen my chops in this regard, because we have a lot of people to reach as quickly as possible.

So please let's community crowdsource the killer lines to get our messages across as efficiently as possible.

I was at a cafe today and a young lady asked me what I do for a living...

One of the most common questions I ask in response to this is "do you know about Bitcoin?"  And although this is helpful sometimes I'd like to avoid this if possible, since if they haven't then they feel immediately uninformed, and also because well, frankly... droves of people in the day to day world have not heard of Bitcoin... Amazing I know, but we live in a crypto tech bubble and we have to face the facts.  If they have heard of bitcoin, they'll say so by the time you've finished your elevator speech.

I usually go with something to the effect of: I'm working on a project to make banks obsolete by allowing ordinary people to control their financial fortunes through a new technology which allows you to store, or send value to anyone in the world in ten seconds. (then if I have a few more seconds I might say) It's a global, decentralized network, which allows you to move your funds between different currencies and earn interest on your savings.

No, MITM attacks are not possible since we are talking with an https service.谈论https服务时，一般不涉及中间人攻击。
Put in another way, we have the same risk as a the Coinbase wallet.coinbase的钱包面临同样的风险

The vulnerability漏洞 until [1] is resolved will only arise if our api server is compromised.api服务完善了的时候，漏洞才能完全被修复。
But even in that case the attacker can't steal your private keys, he can only modify the destination of your transaction.
Remember the server doesn't know about your private keys, he only knows your public keys.你的私钥是不会被偷窃的，因为我们不掌握你的私钥，我们只拥有你的公钥。
