I wonder why BitAssets didn't get a graphic (Codius, Ethereum, Gems, Maidsafe, STORJ all did).

Top slot for traffic usually comes from coinmarketcap. Take a look at the public facing traffic stats for bitshares.org:

These two articles have roughly doubled the usual daily traffic to the main site. I'll take this a a positive sign that recent marketing efforts are starting to pay off.
