Title: Bitcoin FTP??

Does bitcoin use FTP at all? If so then can you list out what actions it would use FTP for?

File Transfer Protocol. It is usually used for downloading/uploading files.

the blockchain can be downloaded via bittorrent though

That wallet itself does not use ftp though right?

No.  Wallet has an RPC interface which you connect to your wallet with.  It also has connections to p2p network.  No use of FTP protocol anywhere I've seen in any coin.

I'm puzzled where you even got FTP from ?   You could use FTP to download the wallet, or perhaps someone has the blockchain available via FTP, but that is all indirectly using FTP.  People just use http to transfer files now and FTP is largely dead.

edit - I am seriously curious about the source of this query if you don't mind ?
