I'm also surprised to learn that Bitcoin has market pegged assets while Bitshares' is "under development".
BitShares has
- anonymous transactions are functional since the beginning
Yes .. I know .. but if ANY of those coins is "private" .. so is BitShares .. (maybe except those based on CryptoNote with ring signatures)

Bitshares is not private yet. See:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=13155.msg172745#msg172745
I was pretty sure that blocktimes for bitshares were 5-10 seconds....is this incorrect?Blocks are signed by delegates every 10 secs ... which is the BLOCK CONFIRMATION time ... hence ... on average you get a 5secs TX CONFIRMATION time :P
I complain about it on reddit/r/nxt ..
maybe considering to add ethereum also! Just said… +5%

Dan Larimer describes Bitshares as "a distributed multi-user database" in his blogpost "What is Bitshares?".
http://bytemaster.bitshares.org/update/2014/12/18/What-is-BitShares/
I agree with him, it is too much of a stretch to call it decentralized.
Thanks.
I was doubting about Bitshares as well. Thanks for this confirmation.

Do we really know anything about Ethereum for certain?

I just couldn't resist, registered on their forum and made a LOOONG post to give them some better info..

Great work xeroc and svk! Link to NXT forum thread here. (https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/help-design-a-comparative-matrix-for-presentation-and-nxt-wiki/msg152232/#msg152232)
We will get this fixed in no-time, and then we got NXTers spreading the gospel on how awesome our platform is as well :)

Correction: Network Security Costs... fraction of transaction fees. Delegate pay does not impact security.
Hello people,
I am the one who commissioned this chart, mainly because there wasn't anything like it around.
Believe it or not, I have clearly stated that the chart should be correct.
I will also make sure that it wíll get redistributed on twitter wíth corrections.
When the first versions were made, it was very clearly biased towards Nxt (larger logo, Nxt in the middle, facts kept out etc), something which I said I would not pay for as that's not the purpose of it.
Of course, because it's posted from the Nxt Forums and Nxt Twitter accounts, it's quite normal for people to think that it will be Nxt biased. Suspicion in the crypto world is rather wide-spread and in the FUD-rich scene we operate in, it's understandable.
I will take the gratuitous insults in this thread in that light then.
For the rest: judge by actions, please. The changes, once checked, will be made. I would like to ask that when made, you at least grant us that much.
Dan's article http://bytemaster.bitshares.org/article/2015/01/03/Cooperation-Amoung-Crypto-Projects/ suggests we not burn each other to the ground each time we encounter a perceived slight, and I agree with that. There're bigger fish to fry.
Hope that clears these things up somewhat and I hope you will keep us on our toes with this.

There's no need to waste time trying to educate the clueless western marketoid fanboys of NXT, NXT is in a death spiral with falling trading volume and market cap ...
Just let the nature take its course ...

Hello people,
As promised, an updated chart.
I've also put it on our Reddit with an explanation why it's updated.
Tweet will go out soon.
Please point out any glaring mistakes. There are a few areas where things are debatable, because definitions of some features differ across projects. If we can come to consensus on definitions, that helps, otherwise, we should probably put that in somewhere to at least make clear we're not dealing with comparable entities.
So, here it is: http://i.cubeupload.com/J02n9J.jpg
I won't clog up the thread with a big pic ;)

Marketplace and smartcontracts are AFAIK in the works.
I thought multisig was already up and running? Not sure.
What is "account control"?
Multisig is close to been release but not yet on the main net .. so the infogfx might get outdated pretty soon :)
Sweet idea ... +5%Multisig is close to been release but not yet on the main net .. so the infogfx might get outdated pretty soon :)
That's the reason that I asked them to keep updating this chart for at least three months.
I expect this chart to be constantly outdated, which is a nice testament to the pace of development we're all going through :)

Not bad, but BitShares does have "profit sharing/dividends". It does profit sharing in the form of burning of transaction fees and fees for user issued assets, fees for delegate registration and there may be some other fees I'm not aware of. These fees are all burned and reduce the supply of BTS which equates to profit sharing as these are DAC income streams and benefit everyone in proportion to their stake.
