I wonder why we always get overlooked in the Bitcoin media, despite being in the top 10 and top 4 coins for the longest time. Why is that? POS or something else?

I feel like we're the red headed step child. Answer that and we might get some traction

First priority for me would be hiring a couple of developers to work on the graphene core to fix the outstanding bugs. The issue list is up to 150+ and it takes months to get a response..
Second I'd find some more ui developers, and finally I'd sponsor some liquidity initiatives.

It would be great to get back to a dividend because I really want to see a bitshares bank. I would stitch over in a heartbeat.

But also look at what we have now - 3 second transaction times. I'd saywe're better placed now despite the mkt cap. I just think we have presentation issues.

I agree, we should have a section that actually shows what we have and offer. A video on the index page and a few screenshots. Then maybe later videos with use cases similar to the ones made by Factom that really get users to understand what they could do with the tech with examples. It's easier for them to have the "aha moment"

I posted a response from a brand new user earlier on this forum. He advocated two websites - one for revs and techies and another for the average joe with videoed and even a wizard. When you look at etheteum and dash scroll it's easy to understand if you haven't seen it before.
As for our dex I think we should put some explanatory text next to certain field to make it easier to know what the field is (TD Ameritrade do that and it saves me ever having to use the help menu). If new users are posting they're confused, there's some clarity that needs to be done imo.

A new user posted a message on the forum the other day that i thought was revealing. He basically said its the concept is confusing, the website isnt doing a good job of explaining things.

I'm beginning to think our website and application isnt user-friendly or intuitive enough. I dont think there is anything wrong with the technology, i just think we struggle with the presentation. For example, look at ethereums home page and even DASH - both have videos for the users showing you HOW to use it. Wheres ours? We have a lot of text. If we're pushing MAS then everything needs to be easy to use.

Just my 2 cents.

General Discussion / Re: why bts lack users????????
« on: January 23, 2016, 01:50:46 am »
why??????
Because it's really confusing.

As an outsider looking in I have no idea what's going on.
Yes, the technology is cutting edge, but I have no idea what benefits it has to me.

The message is being lost.

Suggestion.
Bitshares needs two outward facing websites.
Bitshares.org - designed for the lay person/businesses so they can get involved, buy, mine, download app, create wallet
Bitsharespro.org - designed for the tech minded, devs, all the high level techy facts & figures etc

BitShares can't be everything to everyone all on a single webpage.
What would be amazing is if there was some kind of "wizard" tool to help people create all these weird things you can with Bitshares.  There are like dozens of acronyms for things I think?
But anyway > step 1 - do you want to create an asset (like an interesting paying bond) or do you want to create a new loan, ,step 2 - what is your project called step 3 - the charge for this is 500 BTS, please send to this address or buy BTS from here, step 4 - your project is now live -
or whatever, but hopefully you see the benefit of simplicity?

If a lay person lands on the BitShares home page they are greeted with this:
"BitShares is an industrial-grade financial blockchain smart contracts platform" - Bounce rate high much?

+5% ^^^^ BINGO ^^^^  This is true in my opinion. Adam said basically the same thing in that interview with BM.

If I don't see any movement on this in the coming month I promise you we will head this up and be the lead to ensure that we can be available on the Azure BaaS.

At present we are tied up with other things atm and this would require a great deal of attention money and time to execute.

I think it will be worth the effort though.

General Discussion / Re: Hedge Fund Expects Massive 50% Yuan Devaluation
« on: January 21, 2016, 03:30:09 am »
with the committee proposal we might get some more assets to help with that

One community member in telegram suggested we should shutdown all our markets and just stick to BTC USD CNY. because the rest have no liquidity they should just be eliminated.

Thoughts?

My own view is Gold and Silver must be kept because these are the traditional havens from devaluations.

General Discussion / Hedge Fund Expects Massive 50% Yuan Devaluation

If there is a big devaluation we need to be there with an EASY to use way for people to flee in to bitGold and bitSilver. All bickering aside, first impressions and ease of use I think are key.

I bet this will be big for Bitcoin and it should be for us too.

So without trying to sound too paranoid, do people think that BTS is being somewhat suppressed artificially? BM mentioned an off the cuff comment something like this when discussing the bitcoin failing article that was published the other day. We know we've got great technology and theteam is so innovative, it makes me wonder if there is some sort of collusion to keep our mkt cap low. An interesting thought.
