General Discussion / Re: Couple of hype posts
« on: December 19, 2014, 09:16:06 pm »
Would you take investment advice from the wall street journal?  I'm guessing no... If reporters knew anything about what they were reporting about, they wouldn't be reporters...

Its about getting awareness of bitshares out to the greater crypto community.

Reporters just regurgitate whatever is sent to them and whatever will take them the least amount of time to put out there.  If you wan't coindesk to write a story about bitshares then you basically have to write it for them and let them tweak it and put their name on it.  They don't do much digging and that is why bitshares hasn't been featured...

General Discussion / Re: What's the realistic BTS potential?
« on: December 18, 2014, 04:07:37 am »
Just interested to know what people realistically think BTS price could achieve. $1 seems to me to be  very achievable for such a technology, probably much more.

Thanks
M

A trillion dollar market cap would push the price per share into the hundreds. If Bitshares delivers on what it promises a trillion dollars is possible. Most brokerage firms worth their salt manage a few trillion.

It may seem crazy but if I posted on Bitcointalk in 2009-2010 that Bitcoin would go from $0.10 to $1200 people would laugh at me. The trick is to hold on and not sell out otherwise you will end up like thise people who sold bitcoin at $1 instead of holding. In my opinion Bitshares will either change finance or it will fail, no in between.

Realistically I think $10 is acheivable. (roughly 30 billion)  I am curious on what other people think.I might be crazy but I see huge potential if Bitshares works.

I don't think bitshares succeeding is black and white, either we take over the world or fail thing.  We will most likely end up somewhere in between.  There is a lot of money sloshing around and many crypto projects are going to have mkt caps over 100bil in the next 10 years.  BTS at 1.50/share next year wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities, we just need money to continue flowing into ripple and other 2.0 currencies.  The bear market in crypto is ending based by the positive divergences in some alt coins.  This is a classic trading strategy when trading.  For example oil may be falling and falling, but once you see oil service names start rising even when oil is falling you know a bottom is coming.  A canary in the coal mine sort of speak.  Crypto is the coal mine and ripple is the canary.  Hopefully bitshares follows.

They were in contact, but I'm not sure if anything was ever hashed out

I doubt we will see many more people get voted in as 100% delegates... we have voted in several already and have seen no improvement to the market cap.

Spending money on marketing delegates may seem like a good idea, but these are a bunch of people without a leader to make tough decisions and direct people towards a specific goal.

I would have a problem if all these proposed 100% delegates got elected, but clearly the heavier bts holders know that several separate "marketing" delegates will not work.

You don't seem to have any perspective on what has been going on at Nullstreet. Do you?

An enormous amount of organizing has been going on, and the results of this phenomenal amount of voluntary labor by MethodX and HPEnvy and others are about to hit the airwaves. Bitmarket's book is about to be released, as are his bitshares.tv interviews with Dan. Murderistic's contacts are bearing fruit.

These movers and shakers shouild be paid for their time and effort. Or should we just all just sit back and be naysayer's? And watch our investments peter away? What are you doing that you would like to get paid for?

Are you ready for what is about to unfold? How about you help to fund registration and advise some of the newbies about to begin pouring into our paradigm? Or how about you start marketing to Argentina or Korea (or vote in those ready and willing to do so)?

I like your fire Onceuponatime

Yes a statement about what the core-devs marketing strategy is.  Usually the employer makes the announcement when a high level employee is removed and provides an accompanying statement.

God I wish I would have been there for that lunch... I'm sure fridays mumble will be very interesting.

What does 'in light of recent events' mean?  Did something actually happen or does this just refer to people bitching about the BP and the official marketing effort?

It's people bitching... people who are way too in love with their investments and most likely betting more than they can afford to lose.  An old trading rule is never fall in love, it clouds your judgement.  This is very common though in almost every asset class.

I I think everyone just needs to relax... Obviously the crypto bear market is weighing on everyone. Bp is more of a regular guy trying to target regular people. It would make no sense if he started marketing bts to Joe six pack before 1.0... It would do much more damage if the main marketing push was going on while all these changes and forks are happening. How is bp suppose to constantly explain to people that network shutdowns, rebranding, air drops and that it takes 3 transactions to buy bts and 4 to buy bitusd is normal. U guys were all on board with his marketing strategy earlier and a from what I can tell the plan has been consistent.

You all have been told the marketing campaign starts when 1.0 is released... Why do you insist on complaining about this?  Do you want BM to come on here and tell you for hundredth time what you already know? Is that really going to make you feel better?

If they are stuck in a fork is there anyway we will eventually get the funds delivered?

Can your receive funds from other source ?

I did a vote and it worked fine... so no problem there, but still no funds delivered from bter

How could their withdrawal system be messed up?  All they do is just broadcast a transaction to your Titan name right? Could they be sending the bts to an incorrect address?
