Title: Q1 2016 Expectations for BitShares
Post by: Akado on December 27, 2015, 05:48:26 pm
Not speaking in terms of price, but in terms of features, development, infrastructure, etc

Stuff that is planned to happen (pls help me complete this list)
- METAFEES buybacks
- OBITS buybacks
- UI/UX improvement
- New mobile Wallet and POS system
- Moonstone Wallet
add more projects in the works here pls!

Stuff we think should be done / we'd like to see done. Realistically could happen.
- BitCash
- Video tutorials on how to use OpenLedger on their YouTube channel
- Updates and good news regarding the bank that CNX was in contact with
- STEALTH implemented
- 2FA implemented
- NEXUS (Rune's and Toast's company) working for the BitShares blockchain
- 1 or 2 more partners/services using BitShares
- we currently seem to have ~150 transfer operations per day. Would like to see it grow to ~250/300 by the end of Q1 (http://cryptofresh.com/charts see transfer only chart)
- better API so we have more bots working!
- according to http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitshares/#markets if you check only the BitShares Asset Exchange sources, we have a volume of ~$2000. I think with bots we could get ~$3000-$5000 average daily volume

Stuff we'd like to see done but it's not a realistic expectation / has high probabilities of not happening
- Bond Markets implementation
- Prediction Markets implementation
- Having services using actual bitAssets for shared order books instead of UIAs
- more than 5 new partners/services using BitShares
- one known exchange moving to the BitShares chain in order to provide better services
- CCEDK fully moving to BitShares chain (having the site being the front end and running on OpenLedger). This includes all coins trader on CCEDK
- more than ~300 transfer operations per day
- more than $7000 average daily volume
- 2 or more new companies other than CNX developing BitShares
- Updates and hopefully good news regarding Overstock and BitShares

This is my personal list. I'm probably missing some more important stuff. Please share your expectations!

It is very unlikely that Overstock will ever work with Bitshares. They did not like Bitshares and Patrick Byrne did not have kind things to say about the project.

I would be less surprised if Microsoft adopted Bitshares.

Actually you're right, I think it makes more sense having that on the "low chance of happening list". Thanks for pointing that out. What are your opinions on the rest? Do you think I'm being too optimistic, conservative or do you agree?

I think we have a real chance to have the Moonstone wallet in Q1 2016.
At least this is what Taulant has promised in a Mumble hangout earlier this month.

Nice one, I completely forgot about that!

Link? I'm curious about what he had to say.

I definitely want to approach the 2FA feature but need to clarify some legal stuff in January first. Furthermore, at current market cap and number of customers, Peermit can probably not be profitable for a while which makes constructing a business plan difficult :(

I know at least one guy who's not transfering because there's no privacy. Surely he's not alone  >:(

Q1, Apple uses BitShares to secure ApplePay transactions ... It may sound overoptimistic and it is probably but they are actually looking for ways to use Blockchain to do exactely that.

They don't know if to create a blockchain of to use an existing one. Isn't BitShares exactly what they are looking for ??

Besides, in his analogy, BM compare BitShares Vs Ethereum to Apple Vs Android ...  It has to be a sign !  :P

Here is the article : http://www.huffingtonpost.com/vivek-wadhwa/how-apples-trojan-horse-will-eat-the-credit-card-industry_b_8860964.html (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/vivek-wadhwa/how-apples-trojan-horse-will-eat-the-credit-card-industry_b_8860964.html)

Someone has the private number of Tim Cook ?  :P

I would be less surprised if Microsoft adopted Bitshares.

I would be less surprised if Microsoft partnered with Guardtime

I know Vivek Wadhwa if that helps.  :)
He's the author of that article.

That is because the only people who use the platform are people with BitShares that don't use centralized exchanges. It's like a niche within a niche.

We need to reach out to people who don't hold BitShares and trade on those same centralized exchanges.

Only way to achieve substantial growth faster would be to have one exchange to adopt our technology tbh, even if that exchange only has 10k-50k daily volume. It's nothing comparing with the big ones but would be a huge step for BitShares
