General Discussion / Re: Wallet_Check_Sharedrop
« on: December 25, 2014, 08:15:54 pm »

Still locked up, sorry:  https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/issues/880

It seems the milestone was moved to 0.4.29 but I think we should be able to get it into 0.4.28

That's fine, as long as there is transparency. I was worried that it might have gotten claimed somehow in another unregistered account I imported it in to check the balance. But felt it was risky to do it this way.

Thanks for update, toast!

General Discussion / Re: Check Your Allocation - Episode II: Check It Again
« on: December 25, 2014, 02:05:58 am »
Hi,

Today I imported my PTS wallet into the BTS client and I am confused because I did not find the allocation for the Nov 5th snapshot as indicated in the doc in the original post.

I have held PTS in the same address over the course of all snapshots.

I understand the airdrop is over 2 years but expected to see evidence of it when I imported my PTS wallet.

The "Bitshares Reloaded" document says "planned BTS share drop in late November" ( http://bitshares.org/bitshares-reloaded/ )

What should I do now?

Thanks for any advice!

_wallet_check_sharedrop

So, other than checking, can this be claimed? I thought v0.25 was supposed to introduce the actual distribution, but haven't been in the loop.

Ok, so my wallet_check_sharedrop worked.  Does this mean I don't have to do anything and I can just wait for the payouts?

Can someone please clarify this? How do the shares come through?

Will be available with release of version 0.4.25 (any day now) and vesting (available) at the rate of 1/730 per day.

I'm running v0.4.27.2. wallet_check_sharedrop shows balance. Is the ability to claim it now implemented?

AFAIK there will be a special transaction type (read: button) to withdraw theses funds ..

Any news on that?

People are selling BTC and flooding into XRP. Centralized is actually viewed as positive since it will be easy for corporations to embrace it. Smart programs are also quite potentially the end of all alt coins. Good luck BTS community.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: What is the Reason For 0.4.25 Forks ?
« on: December 12, 2014, 07:24:46 pm »
The reason is bad software engineering practices. Lack of solid test framework. It's irresponsible and should be fixed yesterday.

It shows the balance in the sharedrop command, but balance is still 0. Is that because the sharedrop hasn't actually taken place yet in the client?

If there is $1M held in BitUSD and other assets, then the BTS necessary to cover is about 2500 per BitUSD.

We have 50 BTS per BitUSD valuation at the moment, that's 50 times less than the price where it really couldn't move further based on utility alone. So the real demand for BTS is 1 part BitUSD and 50 parts pure speculation.

After import I get 0 BTS on unregistered account. However wallet_check_sharedrop shows some balance.

This was from PTS, is it because it's not mature yet? How often does it mature?

General Discussion / Re: GEMS could be an opportunity for BTS

They said that they will support any counterparty asset.

Now here is a question - could an independent third party create a counterparty asset that is exchangeable for BitUSD in a cryptographically secure manner? (May need to involve escrow/delegate/multi-sig)

General Discussion / GEMS could be an opportunity for BTS

https://koinify.com/#/project/GEMZ

They will supposedly handle all sorts of assets. They should REALLY try to use BitUSD/other assets to include in the messaging. (In the video they show all sorts of assets, not just BTC)

Not sure what the current team's structure is for BitShares now that it's all "Delegates" and what not. But someone should get on this ASAP.

Bytemaster, you should at least lay out how this can work with GEMS, what needs to be done, which sections of the code, what is the effort?

Anybody has any remotely scientific number on how many BTSX  exited the system after the SuperDAC announcement?

And do not tell me to look at the volume. Up to 85% of this volume is just noise. By noise I mean - trading which results in  BTS ending up in more or less the same hands.

Just look at the volume. Really! :)

You can calculate the "noise" from before the announcement and subtract that so you get a more realistic idea. But I don't think you can draw any conclusions without taking volume into account.

That's easy - when there's liquidity, the peg is working.

Someone posted this in the ethereum subreddit, I don't know the source.

It is interesting that about half of these describe BTS itself while half describe dapps on BTS. Here you see the difference between a DAC and a Dapp (one owns its blockchain and the other doesn't). Those differences are potential competitive advantages in those specific areas.

How many full time developers do you estimate that it would take to make them all real in 2015?

But of course - 101 lol
