General Discussion / Re: Operation Improving Liquidity
« on: April 06, 2015, 08:28:14 pm »
Do you think you would be able to have a profitable bot?

What would we need for our bots to be profitable?

Bots could easily become profitable as soon as people start filling asks and bids. Having a market maker bot would basically enable you to set your spreads i.e. Buy at feed -x, Sell at feed +x. In the example of BitUSD:BitBTC these spreads would move in relation to the current Bitcoin exchange rate. This would be trivial to implement and in already liquid markets the risk would be relatively low in comparison to BTS markets (as price manipulation would be minimised across external exchanges)

If a given market becomes more and more liquid, do the bots keep their profitablity?
(I'm sorry I am pretty new to trading bots)

No they compete for profit, and the HFT bots win  8)

Sounds like he's "warning" us the presentation didn't go well based on the body language in that single picture.

Baseless speculation imo, but an official post would be quite nice.

Poor body language, but it could also be just one shot out of context - someone could have just asked a challenging question that the team had to first think about...or they could be in an empty room doing a dry run

BUT...some feedback from the PeerTracks team would be nice....

Whats with the sharedropping of NOTES, followed by silence? New website, but buggy? Its starting to look disorganized.  I thought by now we would start to see more clarity, not more confusion.

I'll repeat the question that wasn't asked last week, when will we see a project roadmap and why don't we have one for all to see?

I like this question. I also liked when Taulant said how clean the code is,  but how humorous that it is somehow also terribly lacking in pseudo code / comments.  Two things gs that don't usually go together well.

Can the core developers have a 'documentation day'  in which they bring their code comments up to spec?  I know this community is impatient, but better documented code will encourage 3rd parties to get more involved.

Thanks for the reminder, I will update my vote.  Whether you think they will deliver or not, its worth finding out.

+5%  I'm with Ander on this.  Although I am not opposed to MLM programs in theory and they can be effective, I was never sold on MLM benefits over simple referral systems.  The complex structures/tiers and negative associations that come with MLM is something I'd avoid.  Simple referral systems are great.  I'm not sold on multi-tiers.  If I'm a downline person.  Why should an upline be compensated so much for what I do.  It's like just being first is of ultimate importance and then you wait for everyone else to actually do work.  That's how I always felt and that's how MLM is often sold to people.  Shouldn't this be something the NXTers should be doing?  Or maybe give the idea to Paycoiners so they can last a bit longer before going to zero.

I'm 100% behind simple referral systems and designing an appropriate % is crucial to balancing the incentives of referrers with perceptions of referrals.

I did not see any NOTES until I restarted the application.  My wallet must have been in a bad state after re-installing and synching with the latest.  My transactions were missing too, but they're also back after restarting.

There is no one that is reponsible for even starting .p2p, let alone finishing it--as far as I know.

If he could be funded, Zach Lym (http://www.indolering.com/) would probably be the best person to lead this.

I just saw this, looks promising  +5%

MLM got a bad name? Call it "virtual mining"

This plus this, the knockout combo: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=13932.msg181157

ok thanks. I found this one
https://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/lets-talk-bitcoin-129-dogeparty-and-delegated-proof-of-stake

is there a more recent podcast with them both?

This interview was from before the delegate system was used as a kickstarter for BitShares businesses.  I would like to hear his updated thoughts.

And to keep the "official" client neutral .. a plugin system should be added such that you can "install" metaexchange or other bridges/gateways as addon ..

alternatively, metaexchange could host it's own wallet having a bridge from BTC built in! @monsterer
I spoke to Valentine yesterday about adding a "MarketPlace" page to the wallet where blocktrades, metaexchange, etc can be listed and he indicated that it shouldn't be difficult to add. Hopefully we will see something like this soon.

Also, if there are other suggestions for the name of such a page, please post your idea about it.

+5% as long as its obvious to users that the MarketPlace is for 3rd party trust based services.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: BitShare Music Wallet release
« on: March 18, 2015, 08:59:17 pm »
Notes will be made liquid and tradable at the end of the month. On the BTS network.

The music blockchain will not be ready by that date.

I'm not sure I follow these two statements. Is Notes going to be on BTS while ArtistCoins will be on the Music blockchain?

If this has already been explained somewhere else please feel free link it.

Thank you.

P.s: I have been itching for this ever since I listened to MUSIC on a non crypto podcast (forget the name). There is a LOT going on here.

Notes will be a UIA on the BTS blockchain.

Artist tokens will only come out once the NEW blockchain is ready and plugged into PeerTracks.

No artist tokens UIA until the new blockchain is 100% complete and launched.

How is SWSX going?  When we can expect PeerTracks to officially launch?

General Discussion / Re: The web wallet is a must use sales tool.

When viewed through my Galaxy Note 4 and Chrome, the edges get cropped and you can't read all the text, and zooming out and scrolling doesn't really work.  I know its a web wallet and not a mobile wallet, but I don't have any issues on any other web pages.  I have not signed up because of this.  Otherwise, keep up the great work!
