Actually what I meant was scripted user assets - different from scripts in the wallet address.

General Discussion / How can BTS do better than MMC?
« on: November 17, 2014, 07:46:34 am »
The 101 delegates setup reminds me of the 5 paid positions in MemoryCoin. We all know that failed miserably. I want to see if there are any lessons to be learned in that exercise.

Now, I know there is a good team in place for BTS, so perhaps the failure was entirely due to the team in MMC. FreeTrade seemed to aim for low hanging fruit incremental changes, while Bytemaster aims for innovation.

For example voting, even though was much harder in MMC, I think people were voting quite a lot more than currently in BTS. If anything I think voting could be further simplified. Would be nice if delegates could post links to their proposals and a place to track progress so they can be held accountable (or voted out if they don't perform)

Anyone care to comment with observation of MMC and any lessons that could be extracted from it and apply to BTS?

As a delegate you would get BTS every 101 blocks. I believe it is 50 BTS for each block. There are roughly 180BTS paid per delegate per hour. Perhaps that could be sufficient to cover the cost of producing it.

244
OP could work on BTS specific one and ask to be a delegate to produce it.

Then there is borrowing from your own retirement plan, where you pay the interest to yourself. Ha! BTS pays interest to your retirement account, who would've thought?

Updated bitbalance, let me know what you think

 https://bitbalance.azurewebsites.net/

So, is this tool correct? I am seeing 3 times the amount here, compared to the amount in https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BitShares/bitshares/sharedrop_revisions/libraries/blockchain/genesis.json

And I'm also assuming this snapshot has taken place?

Nevermind, I see the balances appear for the same addresses in the genesis more than once, so this is correct.

One thing I don't see is use of GPU processing power.

Well here is a proposal - have a delegate maintain up to date noob friendly website containing news section with all development etc. They get paid for that and everybody wins.

Scripting. Let's make it happen!

Heck, is it possible to do what Counterparty just did and port over Ethereum?

Not sure it would work with Titan, but perhaps it could work by itself without Titan.

Bytemaster, care to provide analysis on challenges in this area?

Someone mentioned https://bitbalance.azurewebsites.net/

Man, I wish there would be a one go to home page, that has all recent and relevant information. This having to read through the forum is getting exhausting, even for an old timer like me. I went on vacation for few weeks, come back, and have to start all over again. *sigh*

Any tools to check the unclaimed balances out there? I don't want to claim any of the balances yet, but would like to know what they amount to.

Also, will those that don't claim their balance still receive % of future DACs?

General Discussion / Re: Invictus Innovations to Return PTS Donations
« on: November 12, 2014, 10:18:39 pm »

Why not just send them to a burn address? It would be way easier logistics wise. I suppose that won't really benefit original donators though.

That wouldn't help in the event the motivation was tax based or the SEC orders them to return the funds anyway.

Hmm good points! Tax could be an interesting issue, wouldn't all receivers of BTSX have to sell a good chunk to cover the tax burden associated with the gift they received?
