General Discussion / Bitshares HUG REST API
« on: December 27, 2017, 03:24:07 am »
Hey,

I've created a REST API using HUG for Bitshares over the last few days. You can't control the wallet, but you can access all data on the blockchain through get requests now.

It's fully open sourced & documented in a manner to improve ease of implementation.

Would you use this tech?

BTSBOTS was overly reliant on Poloniex for price feed stats.

This is not true. Btsbots price feed deviated from poloniex by a lot, because it was heavily weighted by Chinese exchanges with high volume.
When I last used it, it was either Poloniex or hardcoded prices - no other price feed sources. It was about this time that BTSBOTs completely ceased functioning correctly for me :(

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: proposal to create bitXCD

why do you need a MPA then? if the price is fixed, just make a UIA and add a sell order at this price

MPAs are massively more decentralized than UIAs - an UIA would introduce centralized risk, not good.

Sounds like an interesting proposal, I'd like to see support for additional price feed sources - BTSBOTS was overly reliant on Poloniex for price feed stats.

Please track the Bitshares internal market trading pairs & all the other exchanges that trade BTS, not just poloniex/binance.

General Discussion / Re: Cryptofresh Block Explorer + MUSE now available
« on: December 26, 2017, 12:48:54 pm »
Hey, it is *extremely* frustrating that Cryptofresh doesn't provide information about collateralization for the various bitassets. You used to have a list of all open short positions for each of the smartcoins, but (apparently in the past month) that list has inexplicably disappeared. Why would you ever remove that crucial information?

TL;DR please give us back the information about collateral ratios for bitassets.

It's now shown within the bitshares web/light clients.

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares UI Customization Guide!
« on: December 26, 2017, 12:42:24 pm »
Hello !

Thank you very much for your posts !

However I have a lot of difficulties personalising the 'topmarkets' dashboard. I followed the guide but most tradings pair doesn't appear, even though I added pictures in the right sizing.
Any help on this would be very much appreciated !

With best regards,

Tatch

The BTS-UI has changed quite a lot since this guide was created, it's possible that the instructions are no longer accurate.

Are there any errors showing in the web browser console?

You may need to remove/replace some of the default trading pairs from the main page for your additions to show.

as the most active trader in DEX,
nobody ever told me about these rule.
so where is my compensation?

AFAIK no such service exists. If you imported your private keys then you'll have the correct amount, the only scenario in which you wouldn't have your owed amount is if you forgot another account you had?

Fees can be adjusted at any time by the committee, they were set back when the price was far lower - if you want to issue a token and believe the costs are too high then contact your elected committee members regarding these concerns.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: BSIPs 23 & 24

RE: BSIP-0023, we've missed the opportunity to have the first BTC token sharedropped onto a graphene chain: https://news.bitcoin.com/the-first-dpos-hard-fork-lightning-bitcoin-is-on-the-way/

That said, it's still massively worthwhile researching the ability to sharedrop an UIA based on an external crypto snapshot.

Sounds good to me - let's vote to pay some great developers! :D

I remember that CoinHoarder use to be supporter of BTS.
What happened?   :)

Meh, kind of a lot of reasons.

- I realized the Larimers are greedy when they stopped sharedropping PTS/AGS, due to the stuff with the Bitshares DAC mergers, and how the Steem project started.
- I disagreed with the lack of development (pretty much only GUI work done since Dan left)
- I felt like my opinions and ideas weren't taken seriously by the community.
- I realized there are better designed DEXs that will eventually come to fruition that don't use IOUs or derivatives.
- Tether kicked bitUSD's butt.
- The proliferation of Bitshares vaporware fork scams that never seem to come to fuition (or at least to their full potential) by "community" members.

Even with all that stuff, I still root for Bitshares because I was such an avid supporter in its beginning. Some people bought BTS because of my advice, so I want Bitshares to succeed. I just dont own any anymore. I have always been a Bitshares supporter, but I am more honest and blunt than most, so my posts may not come off that way.

Am I the only one here that thinks tether usd has become total scam ?
Tether has zero proven backing collateral, and is centrally issued. I'd avoid it at all costs.
