Title: BitStamp Having Issues
Post by: donkeypong on January 05, 2015, 04:14:54 am
I don't use it, but here's fair warning in case you do. I'm never sure these kinds of comments are real, so take it with a grain of salt:

What if the Mtgox attack and this BitStamp attack are connected? What if the next biggest Bitcoin exchange goes down, and we see within time all the exchanges going down, 1 by 1. It's good news for Bitshares, but maybe there is someone hiring hackers to do these attacks...

Not really because:
1) The Bitstamp hack didnt happen until after the dump.
2) Bitstamp didnt lead the decline, it followed the chinese exchanges, and it also had much lower volume than the chinese exchanges.

If I would be the attacker I would sell all my bitcoins before the attack would take place, and all my friends would be advised to do the same...
(or I would short sell bitcoins before my attack ...)

people could have saved so much money if they were aware of bitAssets. It shocks me. The potential is real. It will just take a little time.
