General Discussion / Question about Market Fee for UIA/UIA Market
« on: December 04, 2015, 03:19:33 am »
Suppose, I set the market fee for MyUIA/BTS market at 0.1%.

Let's say you set the market fee for YourUIA/BTS market at 0.3%.

When trading YourUIA/MyUIA (or MyUIA/YourUIA), what will the market fee for trading this market? Also, who gets to control the market fee?

Great improvement once again.  +5%

I have a question in regards to enhancement #495, Support for Fee Pool funding and Asset fee claims.
In update asset page, I now see that you can fund the Fee pool, but I can't seem to locate the asset (accumulated) fee claims anywhere.

Can you tell me where in the GUI I need to go to claim the asset fee?
It's implemented in the GUI but hidden until the backend gets updated, it uses a new operation type that should get included in the next backend release.

Alright. Thank you for the information. Will await for the next backend release.

Technical Support / Re: Paying network fee via UIA or BTS

The features is there already .. but only available to the blockchain level. It's not yet exposed to the end-user in the GUI

Devs are working on it:
https://github.com/cryptonomex/graphene-ui/issues/356

This is in regards to issue #356.
I see that this function is now implemented on GUI level, but only for fee transfers.
Is there a plan to allow user to select the method of payment for network fees for trading (placing limit orders)?

Yes, an option to select day/night mode will be a great function.

General Discussion / Plans to implement white background (day mode)?
« on: December 03, 2015, 05:12:52 am »
Is there any plan to add white background (day mode) to Graphene?

After staring at Openledger for a while, and switching the screen to Poloniex, I find that Poloniex looks way more professional and easy for the eyes because of its white background.

Graphene's black background is cool for the first 3 days, but I'm starting to get sick of it. I think the de facto standard for any background should be white, including websites, magazines, ebooks, manuals, etc.

Let me know what you think.

Okay, I saw other people reporting the same problem through a different thread.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,20294.msg262286/topicseen.html#msg262286

I will wait for the release of 2.0.15.1202.

Technical Support / Cannot place order when you only hold the UIA
« on: November 28, 2015, 07:00:46 am »
I have sent my UIA to one of my buddies, and he told me that he was trying to place a sell limit order in the UIA/BTS market, but nothing happens when he hits on the sell button. He doesn't have any BTS in his account, but has the UIA that I have sent him. I have set the core exchange rate properly for this UIA, so in theory he should be able to place an order paying fees using UIA.

The symptom was weird, so I have decided to replicate it using my test accounts. I have used two test accounts and performed a test. With the first account, I only funded the account with UIA, and I was able to replicate the exact issue. With the second account, I funded the account with both UIA and BTS. Then, the confirmation box came out properly and I was able to place an order. I also confirmed that the network fee was paid from UIA, which was expected.

This shows that version 2.0.151125 of Graphene wrongly has a validation check for BTS balance, even when core exchange rate is configured on UIA. This is only the case for order placement, but not for transferring UIA. Can you report this to your core developers?

General Discussion / Re: BTS Wallet Best Practices and Danger Areas
« on: November 27, 2015, 06:35:32 am »
1) Do not use the same wallet on two computers.
  - If you do this the deterministic key generation will get out of sync.  This can result in missing balances and/or orders using the same key and thus difficult to cancel.  We are enhancing the wallet to be able to handle this more gracefully.   That said, one wallets will not be able to see the receiver of outgoing transactions sent from the other wallet.

2) Do not attempt to restore from an "old backup"
 -  While technically the purpose of a backup is to prevent you from losing funds, the backups at this point in time are there to allow *future versions* to have a hope at recovering all of your funds.  Backups are generated automatically every time you upgrade the wallet.   When you upgrade only use the "most recent" backup.   Generally speaking you shouldn't ever have to dive into a backup file that is older than your last transaction.  While future versions may allow you to recover all of your funds, your transaction history may never quite recover all of the data you may want.

3) Do not attempt to use more than one "account" per wallet if you want to be able to easily recover from a backup
  - Based upon the current wallet code, if you use more than one account and attempt to recover keys it will not be able to allocate market orders back to the original account.  You will be able to recover the funds/orders to one of your accounts but it may not be the same account as the original order.

Please let me know if these 3 golden rules are still the case for BitShares 2.0 wallet (for both Openledger and light client) or not. If it changed, can you please provide the "new" best practices?

The blockchain allows for a core exchange rate of zero (obviously) hence it is a bug in the GUI

https://github.com/cryptonomex/graphene-ui/issues/543

Thank you for the reply. I now understand it's a GUI bug. I will keep following this issue on Github.

Okay, good to know that the feature is there already. Awaiting for GUI control.

I have another related question. See here.
http://cryptofresh.com/a/BROWNIE.PTS

How did bytemaster set Core Exchange Rate to null? By setting it to null, I see that selling or transferring BROWNIE.PTS will force user to pay network fee using BTS. I am trying to set one of my UIAs the same way as BROWNIE.PTS but the system doesn't allow me to save it.

Technical Support / Paying network fee via UIA or BTS
« on: November 26, 2015, 09:29:07 am »
https://bitshares.org/technology/user-issued-assets/#fee-pools

Here, there is a paragraph that goes, "When a user wishes to pay a network fee with the asset, the fee pool will step in to convert the asset into BTS at the rate that the issuer has specified. This means that issuers may charge a premium every time users opt to use their asset to pay network fees rather than paying them directly with BTS."

This sounds like user has the ability to choose whether to pay the network fee using BTS or UIA. However, I don't see any section that allows me to choose to pay using BTS or UIA. System automatically tries to pay using UIA.

Where can the user switch this to whatever denomination he/she wants?

I wish we have this function in GUI, but if you have to use the command-line interface to do it, I will give it a try.

Can you tell me where I can download the command-line wallet?
