@cylonmaker2053 - in your post here you've quoted me. Unfortunately my post which you quoted had the link to the article which we don't like. I've since modified my link. I wonder, would you mind editing the link in your quote too?

I tryed to logon with my ipad but it did not work with ihashfury. They went back to the laptop and ihashfury did not work so I just used ihashfury0 on the laptop

If you've logged in as ihashfury before on a device, then that specific device should have the certificate associated with 'ihashfury' stored on it. The certificate is essentially your ID.

On which device have you had your ihashfury handle working in the past?

ihashfury0 is ihashfury

for some reason I could not login as ihasfury because of the keys
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Were you using a different device from usual? I recently set up mumble on my android phone and had to import the keys from my computer in order to 'login' as hadrian.
Can you give more details about your problem?

Any BTS 'lost' on any exchange (be it through a hack, fractional reserves or whatever) doesn't only hurt the depositor.
Imagine if loads of BTS went 'missing'... Oh deary me, what a catastrophe!

In the case of a theft, arguments would ensue over rollbacks and all that shit. Very bad problems. Much debate. Much harm.
If it becomes general knowledge that a large percentage of a cryptocurrency is in the hands of 'bad guys', it really puts people off.
Very bad P.R. problems follow. People don't want to get involved with something if they know 'baddies' own 10% of the market cap, do they?

We don't want to have to deal with something like this... but that's obvious.

As long as we keep linking to it, it isn't going anywhere as google figures it must be an authority on the subject if we keep linking to it

Very good point. I've now spoiled the link in my post (a few posts up) so it looks like:

That should be OK, right?

@cylonmaker2053 - perhaps you'd like to modify the link in your post too?

This is about the sixth result when searching "BitShares". I'm looking forward to the day when it no longer appears on the first page of results...

It's surely a very powerful piece in it's ability to make people 'run away' if they begin to look into BitShares. It's a shame to have such a stumbling block putting people off before they've managed to discover how awesome BitShares is.

It'd be nice to have a respected 'outsider' with a high profile to counter this article.

edit: to spoil link to preston byrne's website so as not to feed it to google (as mentioned below)

I'm still trying to work out what I can manage next weekend. Please don't put much weighting on my answers in the poll, because I may not be able to make it at all. :'( :'( :'( :'(
I've ticked the options where there is a possibility of me getting there (although I'd probably be a bit late if it's 3 p.m. on the Saturday).

Overall I think it best if others decide, and I see if I can fit in...

I ll be in london for a little less than two weeks at the beginning of Ausgust. Anyone in for a meetup? :)

There's a slight possibility that I could get to London...
I'll try to figure something out, because I'd like to meet up.
Anyone else?

delulo - if you could keep this up-to-date when you can give more details that'd be good

Have the brownies been dispersed? I've got them from the mumble on the 10th, but not for the 17th or 24th...

I don't think they have. At least I haven't see any yet. Were the BPTS distributed for the first hangout, if so, I think I might have been left off that list.

I reckon you'll need to chase up brownies for the 10th July hangout if you've not got them yet - I got some on 13th July for that one. Not sure whether or not anyone got them for 17th (I've not seen any yet)...

General Discussion / Re: New bitshares.org Feedback

The link on the faucet webpage still isn't right.

"How to Register a BitShares Account" links to http://bytemaster.bitshares.org/tutorial/2015/01/03/How-to-Register-a-BitShares-Account/, which redirects to plain old https://bitshares.org/.

Surely it should go to something more like https://bitshares.org/register/?

This simple problem could potentially stop many people from 'joining' BitShares...
