Vikram made a fix today that seems to stabilize the JSON port.

Also you should weigh pros and cons of http and Json port.   Http needs encoding and is a single command per connection unless you use the batch cmd, still single remote proc call type per connection.   Json need no headers but needs the login RPC call for many commands.  You use the id to track async commands in the same connection.   I saw a 20 fold improvement in a performance when getting balances for 101 local delegates.

Maybe golang requires a status header and the client does not send one.   I am not at the PC now...

General Discussion / Re: wallet_import_private_key failing to parse WIF?
« on: January 16, 2015, 12:58:44 am »
While we're at it, the client confuses the BTS fee with a GATEBTC fee, so it won't let me send GATEBTC if I don't have at least 0.5 in the wallet. I guess this is a general problem with UIA's that you're already aware of but I just wanted to show it.

A preview transaction feature is being discussed for the market.   That is what is needed here too.

The private key has a different version number.  You can't edit it by hand.  It should be possible to check the version and use some magic to import it; lets see what they say at github...

General Discussion / Re: To promote bitUSD, what should we have?
« on: January 15, 2015, 01:52:58 am »
I think we will have something like that in q1.  Did you see that BitUSD/SILVER cart?   It is a demo selling the BitShares book.

This is very organized.  I support you completely, this is a very important delegate position.  Wildpig has been very dedicated to BitShares and a great bridge in communication for the China and US members.

Two simple tricks I use: 1) the Chrome browser's translate has "options" which then allow auto-translate ....  2) Coinmarket cap lets you drill down to a market tab.  You can consistently see how much volume is made up by the Chinese yuan BTS/CNY pair..

 +5% you have my vote

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Voting with the command-line client

great timing - very concise..

suggestion: add "or disapprove" here: Approve or disapprove all trusted delegates using either the CLI command approve...

And, what is the best way to list the delegates in someone's slate?  For example, all I see is a 64bit slate_id in zeroc account's public data

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Delegate Proposal: jcalfee

I am running a DevShares delegate, please vote for me: jcalfee1-developer-team.terrier ...  This is a 100% position to fund BitShares development and testing.   Thank you!

This is only on DevShares .. you have to be on that network to vote for this delegate.

BM had said he will change the allocation with an announcement. Thats happened, then?

There is this from Dec 29: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=12664.msg167826#msg167826
We have not seen anything more recent.  I think BM is going to make one though.

Vikram just started a release thread with a link that shows the tag and binaries:  https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=13010.0

You can import a private key to test it.  I choose to transfer my balance to a new wallet.  In the next release, there will be a new RPC command, wallet_import_keys_from_json that should aid in the process.

A torrent is being seeded.

Technical Support / Re: I want to buy BTS without using BTER

Can I ask what was the aha moment that got you into BitShares?
Um Dan and how he can keep his cool on the forum.  And, seriously, the simple solutions the dev team brought to the market.   Then later bitassets.   I don't know how I could ever live without bitassets which let me stay crypto as long as possible.

I've seen you Dan N quite a bit on Skype and you have been very helpful to others.   I did not know your story, but I was already thinking you were working on this full time and I was very curious to know more.   Thanks for your intro, well written.  We really need your knowledge and affinity to high quality code.
