General Discussion / List of Bitshares tutorials published on steemit.com
« on: August 08, 2016, 08:32:05 am »
This thread serves as a central archive for all the bitshares tutorials members of the forum have written over time.
It should be easier for new members to come here and look them up, rather than searching through the #bitshares category on steemit.

General Discussion / The continued effort to raise awareness of Bitshares in the Steemit community
« on: August 08, 2016, 08:30:42 am »
So, in light of further developments regarding the Bitfinexit fiasco, I took the chance to write a small post linking together the concepts of bitshares and bitsquare, and how using either or both together (depending on the aim) is something worth looking at.
I am still developing the tutorial on the bitsquare end, for bitshares we already have a few around - though it would be nice to have all of them in one place (I will start a thread here on the forum after this post for future reference).
Here is the (small) article; it links to a few others that I wrote last week if you want more information too:

General Discussion / Smartcoin support imminent in Bitsquare !
« on: August 07, 2016, 08:37:44 am »

Please help out with adding OTHER Smartcoins, besides bitUSD!
It is all explained in the article. Really simple!
If you have any good idea about how to separate/distinguish the Smartcoins on the Bitsquare UI, I am all ears too!
Make sure to leave a comment in the thread linked in the article.
This is great news

General Discussion / [STEEM] Can you help with adding SteemUSD to Bitsquare?
« on: August 04, 2016, 06:08:12 pm »
A week or so ago I wrote a post on steemit about using Bitsquare with SteemUSD, and explaining that action on the part of the community is necessary to get it added (someone that works for steemit must make the official request, I was hoping to get their attention if the post surged).
Original: https://steemit.com/money/@karnal/how-to-convert-usd-to-steemusd-in-one-step
Unfortunately it didn't go that way, and the thread over at the bitsquare forum is still stalled:
https://forum.bitsquare.io/t/add-steemusd-support-thread/340/6
If you would like to see SteemUSD added to Bitsquare, help me make some noise!
@Stan ?

General Discussion / [STEEM X-POST]: Decentralized Trading Guide: Installation & Configuration
« on: August 04, 2016, 12:22:31 pm »
For now mostly centered around Bitsquare (but as usual, already with a Bitshares reference snuck in! hehe) .. it will converge with Bitshares at a later stage in the series.

Random Discussion / The most unlikely Bitshares plug in the world
« on: July 28, 2016, 12:30:38 pm »
So, I just spent the better part of this morning writing this story - http://steem.link/KVO2e, and for fun tried to include a bitshares reference somewhere in it.
I challenge you to read the whole thing and find the reference!

General Discussion / [STEEM X-POST]: Steemit - The Unlikely Online Savings Account
« on: July 24, 2016, 10:28:58 pm »
In this post I go to considerable depths to demonstrate how new users, even people who do not have any other use for steemit, could join the ecosystem and utilize the platform strictly as an online savings account.
It is an elaboration of my previous post, with privacy and anonimity in mind.
Over the next few days, I do hope to finish a series of articles I've been writing about the topics of security, privacy and anonimity. It's shaping up to be a busy week in meatland, but we'll see.
Let me know what you think!

General Discussion / [STEEM X-POST]: Thinking of selling your bitcoin? Put it in SteemUSD instead!
« on: July 24, 2016, 09:09:55 am »
Now that blocktrades has reinstated the BTC<>SBD pair, it seemed like a good idea to go on about why it could be a good opportunity to park funds in SteemUSD rather than USD.
With that in mind, I wrote this small piece this sunny morning:

Technical Support / Best graphene documentation ?
« on: July 22, 2016, 09:38:48 pm »
Bonsoir,
What is the consensus right now on where the best documentation for graphene is ?
Also, does anyone know if IPv6 support is baked in? Started a thread some weeks about about that, but afair got no replies..
Feel free to link to other useful posts about the more technical aspects that you've personally enjoyed.
Thanks!

Technical Support / STEALTH clarifications
« on: July 21, 2016, 06:31:19 pm »
Hello everyone,
I was just now wondering about what the latest news are concerning STEALTH.
Correct me if I'm wrong, bitshares munchen is/will be taking the work over.
Furthermore, was any consensus reached regarding what the default will be (hide accounts, hide balances, both) ?
And what are the technical terms being used to define what at the moment (confidential, blinded, etc)
Finally, is it still the case that using STEALTH will require massive user diligence when it comes to backups, unless the user decides to allow uploading an encrypted version of the wallet to the server?
Any other important info regarding STEALTH that I forgot to inquire .. feel free to post it here.
