Should we be responding to this?

Is that the same ChuckOne who was posting in the ethereum Bitshares collaboration thread?

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=6990.msg95311#msg95311

Pretty hysterical if it is :)

Reeks of desperation. They've tried to do a similar full on campaign with Ethereum I think.
Basically anyone that's not NXT is evil :)

I have come to the opinion that the negative attacks at the bitcointalk forum under Alternate Currencies are not based upon ignorance but are deliberate attempts at manipulation to try and prevent adoption of bitshares by the cryptocurrency community (in other word trying to prevent innovation much as the telephone companies tried to restrict the potential of the internet in the early days).

Truthseeking is NOT their objective.

Is it better to simply ignore them and just forge ahead with our innovation?
Or should we be spending valuable time refuting their nonsense?

At some point I'll post a reply since it was me who started it in the first place... glad to see my comments are being exploited for FUD. :)

New thread at bitcointalk.org:

 Bitcoin 2.0

Bitcoin 2.0 is quite different from 'altcoins'. Shouldn't this forum have a category 'Bitcoin 2.0' for all those projects?  It is VERY hard to find posts related to the Bitcoin 2.0 concept as they forever lost in the trash that is 'Altcoins'.  What gives?

C'mon Theymos - organize the site in a way which is most useful to the readers.  Maybe the management here has something against Bitcoin 2.0 world?  Weird.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=752221.0

p.s This is in Discussion threads - NOT altcoins threads - so it has top of forum visibility. And it will be seen by the general bitcoin public, not just the FUDDERS at Alternate Cryyptocurrencies

Given the relatively small audience of devoted cryptoheads at BitcoinTalk versus the larger audience the BitShares platform in its various incarnations is going to reach I say let them have their fun. We do ourselves a disservice if we engage them.

As a huge fan of NxT and X, I can tell you 2Kool does not represent NxT as a whole.  I'm sure there are some BTSX'ers whose mouths and ego's are way to large.  Just ignore the isolated mouths of attachment and keep on keeping on!

come-from-beyond don't think so.  in fact he sees btsx as allies.

that's all that matters to me.  if some of you guys want a collaboration with nxt, i suggest pm'ing him directly.

I realize you guys think that threads such as this are FUD and/or ignorance, and I do not disagree. However, I think threads like this can hurt adoption and community perception of Bitshares. I have spent all day explaining bitassets to these guys and I do not even own a single Bitshares token (PTS, AGS, X, etcetra.) I think Bitshares is a great idea, but I am in debt and could not afford to invest.

I still find crypto currencies very interesting and like to discuss, learn, and debate about them. However, my fingers hurt from sticking up for you guys all day long. :P

Come on.. go stick up for yourselves and eliminate the FUDsters/ignorance and drop Bitshares knowledge bombs on them mofos.  :D

on a good day, the nxt community is pretty open minded and awesome.  the 'reaching out' thread from tonyk was just bad timing really.  nxt went thru a couple of hacking incidents, and it's price is down and it might take time to recover.

on the other hand, btsx is on a roll.  it's way up and looking good and passed nxt and ripple in a day.  then you see a guy starting a thread about bitshares in a nxt forum.  so of course some people will feel bad.  and it's natural, it's human.  so it's very understandable that some might get edgy.

maybe it might be a better idea to reach out somewhere else for now.  i suggest reaching out to the stellar foundation.  joyce kim even encourages you guys to drop her a message at joyce[at]stellar.org.

Awesome!

That wasn't necessary, but I appreciate it very much. I mainly just wanted to make the point that you guys should fight FUD/ignorance with facts. Anyways.. I am excited about where Bitshares is headed and can't wait for the BitsharesX market to open up.

Thanks again bytemaster/stan!

This is a fantastic attitude that I wish more people in the industry would adopt. Thanks for spending the time to quell the ignorance and the loud voices of the few. It's important we don't paint communities all with the same brush. Like any large collection of humans you're going to have a variety of personalities and the loud angry voices aren't likely the people we're looking to interface with anyway.

Welcome CoinHoarder. Thanks for posting.

Hi, guys. I have come here to state that a lot of nxters don't support the point of view of those who posted that nonsense about great satan. I hope u will forgive them, they became upset when saw that Bitshares' market capitalization had jumped above Nxt's one.

Hey CfB,

That's great to hear. Very cool of you to take the time to come here and post. NXT has just come through a rough patch but seems to be recovering well. There's plenty of space for everyone in this industry. I like to think of the Crypto 2.0 space more like BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar each marketing their approaches to the automobile rather than warring factions fighting over small scraps.

Best,
Riverhead.

This may actually be good for Bitshares.  It is turning out to be very good reading and very helpful to me to read the debate at the original link.  Thanks to those here who are posting there.

It's actually a good strategy to consider the arguments against your product and answer your critics in advance if possible.  You could even make it part of an FAQ...Is Bytemaster Satan?  Are the delegates the crypto equivalent of the FOMC (Federal Open Market Committiee) of the Federal Reserve?
