I was just buying some bitUSD for todays payouts for http://vote.bunkermining.com .. just like every other day we are generating transactions, volume, and bringing new users.
As I am buying bitUSD suddenly I see an order for $69.880 bitUSD BUY go in! WHOA!
Now THAT is only hell of a buy wall! Anybody selling bitUSD are going to be paying that price for quite a while!
Somebody like to explain why someone would create a buy wall like this and what it means to bitUSD?
If you would like to see buy walls like this go away faster, vote http://vote.bunkermining.com and we will actually be moving MORE than that much bitUSD DAILY!

Those are the expired but uncovered shorts. Destined to roam the earth as lost spirits until the BTA2.0 rapture. Or until they are manually closed:)
They are fixed at the price feed by the market engine

So what does that means exactly?
What is an expired but uncovered short?
Who were the winners and losers in that?

DONE.. here was my last post a few moments ago:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,16616.msg212731.html#msg212731
I was advertising another delegate though.. I dunno.. is that still bad?
I have stopped in every single post now. Mission accomplished.
However, I will not back down from my fiduciary responsibility to the contributors from this community to getting these delegates elected as they entrusted me to carry out.
The solution if you don't like seeing it, help get them elected.. then I don't have to mention them ever again. :)
Enough of that though. Stay on topic please.

Isnt the buy wall a result from expired shorts?
-
Sorry for being obtuse!
When you sell short, as long as you maintain collateral you can't be called for 30 days. After 30 days, your shorts can get called at the price feed. Thus, all BTA shorts older than 30 days form a "buy wall" for BTA at the feed that are filled in order of least collateralization.

Yes those are expired shorts waiting to get filled at the feed price. They've been there since a week or so before the 0.9 patch, slowly being filled but new shorts have been expiring in the meantime.. At one point it was over 12 million BTS worth, its now under 10 I believe.

It's the most promising project we have to bring a LOT of new users in BitShares. In addition, these targeted newcomers are tech savy, crypto aware, have funds in volatile crypto and probably have a lot of friens in the crypto a sphere. What more do we want ?
For me, you could advertise yourself twice in every single post you make, it's still wouldn't be enough !
Vote http://vote.bunkermining.com ;D

To be honest it can be a bit much even though I support it highly. However, Estefan is pretty much on point imho. Couple this with the referral program and you have some powerful potential to do many awesome things that no other pool can do...

The juggernaut has moved to 142 today... do expired shorts change their price automatically like that? Or is someone babysitting this order?
