We can already do this on blockchain all that is necessary is a little UI work in the wallet.  Bet properties can be published on the blockchain via CUSTOM operation.

You would need to do LSMR prediction markets to justify a FBA.

Technical Support / Re: What happened to the 30 million BTS
« on: January 09, 2016, 07:17:21 pm »
Most of that year FMV held the coins and didn't spend them and of course, most of the coins are still vesting.
They have released source code for stake-based voting and are still doing things for BTS.

I just talked with Nathan and Adam yesterday and they are still in the BTS camp working on things.

General Discussion / Lessons Learned from Alt Coins
« on: January 08, 2016, 11:22:18 pm »
What lessons can we learn about how to launch a successful alt-coin?  Perhaps we could use this information to help us improve BTS marketing.

If you wanted to "create an alt coin" and only a "coin", not a DAC... how would you market it to maximize its market cap to be higher than DOGE.

I believe we have identified the cause of this and will roll out a fix next week.

Whenever there is voting power threating the king bytemaster will lead to the rule changes. BTS is bytemaster's private toy, he won't allow being challenged.

I welcome the challenge and feel no need to control.  I just try to help.

The primary benefit of stealth is to enable the creation of new public accounts that are not tied to any other public account.

If only there was a MAS where those who provide the gambling services could be insured by the gamblers and each other.
If only there was a way to insure against regulatory persecution.

If I understand your automation idea correctly, just make sure the ability the vote to correct a problem quickly isn't impaired. In 1.0 it was tough to vote out poorly performing witnesses (for several reasons), but in 2.0 that situation is made worse through the introduction of the maintenance interval.

I understand the tradeoff you made and the need for the maintenance interval in 2.0, not arguing against that.

Just making sure you consider the impact on ability to take corrective action through voting. This should be included under the PROs and CONs as a CON in the BSIP.

If the result of implementing this BSIP increases the time to make important changes (like removal of bad actors), it may still be worth it but that impact needs to be fully disclosed by providing a few use cases of how the BSIP will alter current operation.

My approach should not have any negative impacts.

Can we get in contact with the guys from http://ciyam.org/ again?
@cass: IIRC, you have a contact

With workers and FBAs on the blockchain, we may be able to convince them to help us out

I agree it would be nice to have multiple options on one chain.

General Discussion / Re: The Benefits of Proof of Work [BLOG POST]
« on: January 05, 2016, 03:57:45 pm »
Prisoners didn't do that work for free. Someone had to pay to hold the prisoners.  The cost of slave labor is food, shelter, and clothing as well as guards.

How much did the prisoners get paid, then? They were expending the energy, not their guards. You attempt to bring in exogenous elements to prove a point about an objective measure.

It isn't what someone is "paid", it is what you would have to pay to get someone else to do something for you.  You are looking at it from the perspective of the people doing the work rather than from the perspective of the people who have to get them to do the work.

I think I can automate this in the witnesses so no fee for tallying votes is necessary nor manual intervention required.
