The stuff about wallets per virtual machine.. priceless.
There are users who intentionally went around claiming typo names so they could return the funds in the event this happened. I wonder if these accounts were one of them?
I think @fuzzy may know more.
unfortunately i do not know on this one. what i did early on was try to get accounts on bitshares for people who sacrificed a great deal for the project and had some level of reputation in the community i did this in hopes of "benevolently" squatting on them and giving them to those to whom they should belong. i did this because the last thing i wanted was for many who were basically poor from volunteering for bts (instead of working another job as a secret bts holder and stacking) being charged outrageous sums for an account name i thought a person deserved.
however, it was not long after i went and did this that it was made public that names would be nontransferrable.
that was on the 1.0 wallet though and i have since stopped using it and even asked riverhead to separate all those accounts from my wallet. if any of those accounts have ever received funding i do not know to be honest.
hmm... okay maybe it wasn't you, but damnit i know this was a thing. I distinctly remember reading a post where somebody benefited from it
@CLains was it you maybe?
Indeed, *puts on monocle*
I chanced upon the reverse squat white hat trick with bternames, as you may recall from this old post.
Unfortunately I don't have any other ones.
Gentlemen,
*tips fedora*
http://cryptofresh.com/u/poloniex-walletWhat do you mean by locate?
with this data it must be possible to locate, as it does not seem to be any nomal user.
That's why we have the little icons/avatars. Even for similar names the icons will be completely different.I know.. but acted too fast, I guess I don't bother looking at the avatars. From now I surely will...
Keep all UIAs.
What I'm saying is we need a master USD smartcoin for fiat.
Use the master as a base smartcoin to create all other fiat smartcoins from.
These other sub smartcoins would hold value in euros or yen etc but couldn't be traded only used to hold value.
They would need to be turned back to BitUSD if you want to do trading.
these sub smartcoins would work by transfering bitusd in to a special EUR wallet which uses a CFD behind the scenes to keep the the value correct by either adding or subtracting Bitusd.
I'm a bit slow with these things.
Lets say I have 1215 BitUSD & I put it into a special Gold wallet because I want to be long 1 ounce of Gold.
Gold then increases by 300% vs. USD.
Where does the additional $2400 come from to pay me my gains. Who loses on that trade?
The blockchain/reserve pool would have to cover these costs.
But lets get some perspective. For every winning trade there will be a similar number of losing trades which would offset losses and may even make profit.
I think should only be for fiat currencies.
Another way of offsetting any losses would be to charge a 1% fee when users choose to lock their Bitusd to another fiat currency.
Another way to offset this proposed systems excessive long USD position might with prediction markets.
I have a BTS withdrawal still "pending" after 9 hours. Lots of problems@inarizushi
I find poloniex very nice thanks to their "lending" panel, it's very easy to get 50+% annually on BTC, which is so nice compared to 0.75% in banks... I want a liquid collateralized bond market on the DEX so badly
How do you get 50+% on BTC? - I see loan offers for BTC on there at about .1%
0.1% it's per day
Tip, don't focus on the limits of Bitcoin! The people who are involved in Bitcoin will figure it out on their own, in their own time. Focus on the unlimited aspect of BitShares instead, and note how it complements Bitcoin. Let the Bitcoin maximalists attack you all they want, and even agree with everything they are saying, and let their hostility fall on its own unreasonableness. Be gentle and focus on everything that creates enthusiasm and aliveness and collective action.
