Openledger / Deposit & withdraw SBD STEEM not possible?
« on: June 27, 2017, 10:51:31 am »
There is a post on Steemit https://steemit.com/steemit/@alienbutt/can-t-make-a-sbd-deposit-at-bitshares
I have looked into my wallet and it is true.
Openledger gateway has not available these two assets?

Any explanation please?

This is nothing yet. Just wait until DEX becomes #1 exchange in the world by volume. In last few days we jumped from some 180K+ accounts to over 240K and that's just the beginning of DEX discovery.
+5% Volume one DEX is rising and more pairs are liquid. IMO this single thing is sign of bright future.

Now on the DEX 6,61 BTS/bitUSD and BTS/BTC just trading above high of 21 May.
I thing we all dreamed about such prices since the star of BTS 2.0
To be honest I do not know what exactly  is behind this surge. Too wild ride.

"Even the CIA and the NSA can and have been hacked, I don't see much room for debate here. Backdoor access to cryptographic systems has always been and will always remain a stupendously bad idea."

Agree with Karnal.  If there are any backdoors, they will be used for nefarious purposes, whether by government or private individuals.  I would like to see Bitshares support anonymity and privacy by default, and in such a way that even if the developers of the code themselves were beaten with a rubber hose, they could not be compelled to give up any information about transactions on the Bitshares network.
+5% nothing to add

I would also like to know what is the status with stealth...It is about time that we reclaim our 4th position in CMC  :)

P.S. I am so upset with myself I panicked and sold most of my bts @$0.01..BIG MISTAKE!
Hi @mf-tzo  IMO it is better to throw away all my BTS in case of total failure than sell all of them cheaper than 1 USD/BTS.
Maybe strange opinion but looking at Ethereum price there is no reason BitShares should be worthless.

@rnglab well written summary.
I am with BitShares from the Protoshares times but I am not coder so I can not judge technical details, but I feel  that further development, maintenance and flawless operation of network is substantial otherwise all investments (not only fiat or crypto spent but years of attention and work of many active members)  e.g. the whole value of BitShares could disappear quickly.
At today's prices BitShares are a real deal, no experiment or hobby. I think many of members feel the same these days.
I wish BitShares crowd to find necessary will, consensus and funds to act in the meaning of what was written.
Many thanks to all contributors!

Thom thank you for your clear and complete post and effort spent on following this utmost important issue.
I know @kenCode as old, beneficial and active member of our community.
IMO if somebody speaks about lawyers instead of "handshake was made" the whole matter smells.

I have absolutely the same problem and it is almost 100% sure somehow connected to chat.

I just happened to encounter project  VIVA at Steemit
http://blog.vivaco.in/
Do you have an idea what the difference is compared to BitShares and/or Graphene???
There is just a beta exchange (we have DEX, OPENLEDGER) and some projects which IMO are just idea fare from reality eg.
MedicAxess, POETS, VOTABIT (do you remember Follow My Vote now on our graveyard) Also the question is how to make money on it.
CASHOLA seem good idea but BLOCKPAY is done(or almost)

Trollbox counter display users connected to you, not traders. This is p2p chat and works very bad. It is useless and make false impression that DEX is ghost town. I hate it, i have disabled it.
Anyway there is no chat in the trollbox.

No one got a comment on that?

If I didn't know any better........I'd say the price is going up.

 :D

Now is this money just part of the Alt-Coin bubble that is happening right now, or will these funds actually move to the DEX and start buy smartcoins and UIAs???
I can not judge if it is a bubble or not, but what seems to me important is that trading volume on the DEX is all time high.
The rise in price is accompanied by volume and looking at trollbox there are 168 users just now.
Probably much more than usually (but I have no historical data about users on the DEX)

So to clarify, any exchange has an OPTION to vote but most DON'T and Yunbi decided to vote?
Any account can vote or not.

Can anyone explain how the non-voting accounts are selected?

For example poloniexcoldstorage is a non-voting exchange account but yunbi-cold-wallet is a voting account. I was trying to research that but can't seem to find any governance on the network for these.
Look at BitShares online wallet if you don ´t have your own account https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/account/yunbi-cold-wallet/voting/ and you will see that yunbi has voting proxy laomao
eg. this wallet is voting.
Poloniex has no proxy nor is voting idividually for witnesses or committe member eg. is non voting https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/account/poloniexcoldstorage/voting/
