Making a thread specifically for feedback on last status update:
BitShares DNS is the name of the namespace DAC family, and *maybe* the name of a a possible proto-DAC for this family. If there is a proto-dac then new DACs can use burn rounds (among other options) for snapshots, if there is no proto-DAC then new chains will do burn rounds / snapshots from previous chains or PTS/AGS or both.
What used to be called "BitShares DNS" is now simply called ".p2p" - that is the name of both the blockchain and the TLD, with ".P2P" as a ticker. This will not be heavily branded with BitShares but rather will set an example of how a project can benefit from participating in the bitshares ecosystem.
I'm a little torn. I think it would probably be really helpful to the bitshares ecosystem for 3rd-party products to come along that honor PTS/AGS, but I think it's going to be difficult to convince people that P2P is actually 3rd-party when its lead dev is a hero member at bitsharestalk.org.
The other thing is that you'll probably get a huge marketing boost by explicitly labeling p2p as a bitshares product.
So my equivocal suggestion is to explicitly use the bitshares name in everything. Like I've said before, Bitshares products should all show up next to one another in alphabetized lists. It should be unambiguous that bitshares products are not shitcoins.

I agree. The whole reason we promoted BitShares to be an industry brand, not our company brand is to call attention to that industry.
Imagine when the first ten entries at coinmarketcap start with Bitshares!
Note also that we are contributing bitshares.org to the industry. We are actively purging all Invictus specific references and moving our logo to just one of the icons on the industry members list. So you don't have to drop your membership in the BitShares family just to declare independence from Invictus. We have already declared everybody to be independent.
Note that our new Team page is not a page of Invictus employees but a growing number of industry heroes from many companies!

That said, you should think about different kinds of brands. What brand will you use to reach out to your DACs customers (.p2p) vs what brand will you use to reach out to investors in your DAC's stock? (powered by BitShares DNS) and how do you want your DAC to appear on the exchanges? Do you want to instantly communicate that you are a profitable DAC in a specific industry with tons of support, or do you want your ticker symbol to merge into a sea of other newbies trying to get noticed?
You can have your cake and eat it too!
Choose one brand for your customers (Lucky Robot Casino) and another for your ticker symbol (BitShares LRC).
That said, we recognize that there are many different strategies people can choose and some may benefit from totally independent branding.
Ultimately, your DAC will be competing with its own clones. Which of you chose the branding strategy that led to being Number One in your sector?
Each team gets to choose its own path to success. Use the brands when they make sense.
