Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Update from 100% delegate marketing.methodx?
« on: January 29, 2015, 11:27:53 pm »
TorAds started last night. Just put $300 into the coming Thunderclap campaign. As of late my time has been very limited; I have a personal life and a marketing firm of my own to run. Let's not forget I created marketing.methodx so I could accumulate a budget for an advertising campaign of some sort, which I'm doing. I'm not making money off any of this. At 50 BTS per block, getting an advertising budget takes a really long time (at current market cap).

If you want to learn more about the TorAds platform, check it out: http://toradsc6vvmtugty.onion/auth/login

General Discussion / Get Hired By The Blockchain Video

Quick video we did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7gp3d-bn8c

I know you can tell she's reading from a script but she can work on that. The tone we're trying to set is that of a newscaster / professional.

General Discussion / Re: Invite only community marketing forum.

What about making a vouching / approval system to get voted in? Like: One needs three vouches from people on nullstreet to get into nullstreet. This way Methodx doesn't have that much responsibility/work and can leverage the knowledge and social ties of others.

Eventually there will certainly need to be a closing off of open registration.  This is simply to protect those who are working their asses off.  The last thing we want is people from competing projects joining and knowing the marketing angles at play before they are even used.

At some point I think new users should have to build a reputation on Bitsharestalk (this forum) before being given access to Nullstreet.

That's what I've been doing. I only accept people with a reputation on here and reject all others. And I will PM the users on here to verify it's really them.

General Discussion / Re: Brian Page (MktDirector) Is Moving On

This entire exercise is a learning experience and illustrates what happens when software developers try to manage things outside their areas of expertise

+5% Bitshares is light on PR/Marketing and general strategic planing imo.  It seems like the guys at Nullstreet may be filling in the PR/Mkting end.   Hope fully we can get someone one that is strong in business strategy to complement BM's  prowess in the general vision and technology.

After the holidays and after I tie up loose ends with my other online businesses, I'll be stepping up in a big way.

+5% Can't wait until we get this going. It's the perfect MVP for Valentines referral program. Like Toast said, the trick will be presenting this in a way that's not spammy.

Yes, I based the name of the company off the poem. Dan added the innovations part becoming I3. It works well.

It's a beautiful poem. Well chosen.

Because BitShares was developed as part of a larger vision to make governments irrelevant, it would be a contradiction to depend upon governments to enforce any kind of software license. BitShares must succeed without any kind of license protection at all.

Now we're talking. +5%

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

General Discussion / Re: Is the Official Marketing Team Sleeping?
« on: December 16, 2014, 05:49:02 pm »
Any reason Methodx and Brian can't have a pow wow and compare notes so Methodx can fill in any gaps in Brian's marketing strategy?

Brian says to Methodx "I'm doing X,Y,Z".

Methodx says to BM "I think we need to do A,B,C"

BM and Methodx say to community "Methodx is going to do {ABC} and requires $$$ to do so. {ABC} is complimentary to {XYZ}".

Where {} are sanitized to protect whatever competitive advantages there may be.

Community says "Yay! We trust BM and Methodx. Go for it!".

We've kind of done this already. Also, please keep in mind I spent over 80 hours the week before last planning and strategizing, working on projects and co-ordinating marketing efforts with core team members. I need to start focusing on my real business that makes me actual money... Even if I'm obviously in love with bitshares, reality is starting to set in. There might be a fix in the works that'll get me paid though, so stay tuned.

Audit a good idea.   See if they concur with BM's assessment.  However, auditors are usually independet and vetted for conflicts of interest.  Methodx may stand to benefit from a harsh assessment...not sure about Charles as I came here after he left already.

+5% I also hate accounting. I can give a competent cost analysis on his marketing expenditures though.

Me and Rune were talking about something like this yesterday. You could even interface with Reddits API and have a faucet website set up that allows any Redditor to login with their reddit credentials and give 5 BitUSD per 1000 comment karma. That way you prevent abuse (can't game karma easily) and are getting the attention of the most vocal users on the most strategically important tech social media platform.

It is critical that we have enough early adopters to help out when mass adoption begins.

+5% This right here. It's essential we have more early adopters if we ever hope to cross the chasm.

well...I hope you all the best

any candidate for this role right now? how about kevin harrington? :P :P

He is moving from employee to independent entrepreneur with the same task but powerful new incentives and capabilities.

Hey Stan, I have a plan to promote the market in Africa for BTS. What do you think about this? I wish you gonna support me.

It's not Stans job to support you. It's the collective shareholders in general. Make a delegate proposal in the delegate sub, lay out your plan in detail and see if your idea is worth funding. I'm eager to hear what your plan is!
