Hi,

I'm traveling and I haven't got a computer where I can run/install a Bitshares client.

Is there any way to use the backup wallet without a full client.

Thanks.

the thread title: Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" (Second Edition) VOTE
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=985422.0

The pole question: Which cryptocurrency do you want in the book?

The post text: "I vote for BitShares + 1"

Looks like similar posts were deleted from that thread.

Edit: incorrect display of the quoted post text.

I imported my BTS keys into DVS wallet (">>>wallet_account_list_public_keys" shows I've got them)

I rescanned the blockchain (">>>wallet_rescan_blockchain").

I don't see any 'genesis' DVS in my DVS wallet account(unregistered).
(">>>wallet_account_balance" shows 'No balances found.')

I'm sure I had funds on 2014-12-14 (this is the date the snapshot for DVS was taken, isn't it?)
in the BTS wallet from which I imported the keys into DVS wallet/account.

Also, I don't see my public keys in the genesis_dvs.json file either (https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/blob/devshares/libraries/blockchain/genesis_dvs.json)

General Discussion / Please, avoid sexism in your (public) writing.
« on: December 31, 2014, 01:37:58 pm »
Hi,

Equality and being inclusive is part of the bitshares that attracts many.

Yet, for example, a developer is often referred to as 'he' and 'his'.

Although, you might consider it as reflective,
it can easily become 'projective' as in the latest newsletter:

Quote
An artist can either go to iTunes or Spotify where he is just another drop in the ocean or he can come to PeerTracks where we can pretty much guarantee he will be listened to by a ton of incentivized users looking for a future star.

... the artist can up-sell his fans ...

thus excluding half of human population and violating equality and inclusive ideals of bitshares and scaring people off.

Some practices to avoid sexism:
1) use plural pronouns: "The developers have dreams. They want to bring equality to people."
2) use 'he or she': "A developer may easily be hired by the bitshares blockchain. He or she just need to ..."

Thanks.

Technical Support / How to initialize UIA(user issued asset) market
« on: December 28, 2014, 12:49:58 pm »
Hi,
I've placed a bid: (block 1375300)  buy BTS @ 0.000052 GATEBTC         (id e0f9f37b)

However,

> blockchain_market_status
gives and error: The BTS/GATEBTC market has not yet been initialized.

I placed an 'ask' order. But the market still isn't initialized.

How do I initialize a UIA market in cli?

Thanks.

Technical Support / Help setting up delegate voting using CLI.
« on: December 22, 2014, 05:26:24 pm »
Hi,
I run bitshares client_version v0.4.27.1 on linux(debian/jessie).

I tried wiki.bitshares.org and github.com/BitShares/bitshares/wiki/DPOS-Voting-For-Delegates and searched this blog too,

my best guess is I need to 'construct wallet slates' with delegates I want to vote for.

So, how do I do that.

You get my vote for helping out.
Thanks.

Technical Support / withdraw from Poloniex.com and Bter.com
« on: December 11, 2014, 05:35:21 pm »
Poloniex:

Cannot withdraw from Poloniex, says: You MUST send your deposit using the Memo below, or it will not be credited.
If i just write something in Memo field, it says something like 'bad memo'.

Bter:

Cannot withdraw: Says 'withdrawing not possible' and something in Chinese.
